I've never seen the waste management on these. I guess you just dump it all in Flint, MI or somewhere else that can't afford lawyers.

The turbine is about equally difficult to make as the reactor, it doesn't make sense to waste one on a reactor that can't max it out. Small modular reactors work great for boats though, where size is a bigger factor, and the Navy is actually pretty good at making them.

Construction has begun on the Western world's first grid-scale Small Modular Reactor (SMR), though small is not what comes to mind, considering that the machine will fit on two soccer fields.

Target date for completion is 2030.
