Pretty sus to bring up ”not liking illegal immigration” as an example, I also highly doubt cops would care at all. I can't disagree with much of what's written here, but feels like a chud's behind it.
Word. Political repression absolutely is the point behind this, but it will almost exclusively target people fighting climate change, militarization, the rise of fascism, police violence, the genocide in Palestine and whichever leftist causes get added to the hitlist for full-scale violent repression next (atm queer rights sounds like the most likely candidate). The only right wingers that will get in any amount of trouble are those that directly go for members of the ruling class, and they will receive a fraction of the scrutiny and punishment leftists will get for things like property damage.
This can't be said often enough. We've seen throughout the last 25 years of mass surveillance rollouts how "save the children" has been instrumentalized over and over again and how over and over again, these measures ended up being widely used anywhere it seemed convenient, with only a tiny fraction of use cases having anything to do with child protection. This will be no different.
They do not give a fuck about kids, just look at how they gloat when kids drown while trying to flee the Global South hellzones, how they celebrate Palestinian children getting bombed and sniped and starved to death or how they love to torture trans kids until they break. A mob of out and proud child murderers does not care about protecting kids from harmful social media usage. And if you'd want to protect kids from that, the best way would be to make laws that do not stop protecting users once they're 18. Social media needs to be forced, at gunpoint if necessary, to stop being built on doomscrolling, to be privacy-focussed and open source and it needs to be kept free of the disinfo campaigns of nazi billionaires by [REDACTED BY THE BRITSH CROWN'S MINISTRY OF ONLINE CHILD SAFETY]
Push back against this everywhere and as hard as you can.
