Why can it not be a simple "click here if you are over X age" button like it always has been? Where in the text of this new bill does it actually say more sophisticated checking is mandated?

The bills explicitly requiring age checks were already rejected, so the powerful people who want to impose this invasive nonsense on everyone else are trying to do it implicitly, with this bill.

That's honor system. It doesn't work anymore, and surely daddy government doesn't want the honor system used.

They need something else entirely.

The House version had already passed, actually.

As for the Senate, I have a feeling they're going to block it, since they don't like the amended version of it.
