I’ve been using Guerlain vetiver parfum during this heat wave. It has some spicy notes. Maybe carnation. And some vanilla like notes, probably tonka.

You mean "Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver"? I will check it out and some others from Guerlain. Thank you :)
Check out different scents and see what you like and what works with your body chemistry. I like vetiver for summer. What I am using is just called vetiver and is marketed for men. But i think it smells great as a woman’s fragrance. Iirc, the aqua allegoria line tend more modern, feminine. Probably sweeter and more floral. I like some of the classic guerlain line which tends to more woody/ spicy tones.
yes i saw Guerlain has plenty of fragrances to explore and they are available in europe. i never heared of them before :)
You're in for a treat if you can explore Guerlain, they are also making their perfumes more accessible... Selfridge's in Manchester stocks them now!! In the olden days it would require a trip in person to Maison Guerlain or a phone call to get the good stuff
edit... if you can try spiriteuse double vanille, its a really nice boozy vanilla, absolutely divine!
i found one chain here in switzerland that claims to sell it on their website at least. I will see if i can find it in an actual store :)
Oh lord, I was made for this thread, I have about 100 or so different perfumes
What price point are you looking at? And what are your preferred notes?
The ones I love tend to be designer and niche, I can recommend some really good fragrance if you like 😃
Edit
I forgot to add my faves....
une fleur de Cassie- Frederic Malls (a mimosa bomb)
Sarassins- serge lutens (jasmine, jasmine, jasmine, oh and some musk too)
L'nombres d'or vanille- Mona di orio (I think its discontinued now, but it'd a beautiful grown up boozy vanilla) also her oud perfume too, very expensive but fantastic
Spiriteuse double vanille- guerlain (another amazing vanilla)
Winter woods- Sonoma scent studio (an American indie perfume house, amber, woodslasts for days and days, and makes me go weak at the knees)
Wild hunt- cbihatepefume (less of a 'perfume' and more of a sensory experience, think pine Forrest, wet earth, mushrooms. If I need to be transported this one does the job)
Bat- zoology perfumes (another indie house, concept is everything bat, so it opens with the food- fruit, the smell of the cave and damp earth with some musk thrown in of the furry bat)
I'll add some more tomorrow 👍
Edit2 spelling
niche not so much or lets say i should be able to find in europe. Pricepoint can be between drugstore and luxury. Im not so sure about notes i like, but i think wood and vanilla but with a twist.
Im looking for parfumes for different occasions. For example "strong confident woman that is beeing taken seriously in meetings" and for this i have "Libre" by Yves Saint Lauren, which is also a nice day to day sent. For this topic i am also considering "Guilty" by Gucci because it smells like someone with the confidence i'd like to have. i hope i will get there though :)
I also like "Born in Rome" by Valentino and "Zadig" by Zadig and Voltaire.
for me it's easyer to test designer or somewhat popular parfums, because i live in a rather small city.
so anyways, i'm still looking for parfums for ocasions like: doing something outdoors with a friend in spring or summer. So maybe something light/fresh/clean/sporty
and a day to day parfum for winter that is not too heavy nor too sweet. So i guessing something with wood an citrus? but i'm not sure.
i hope that was somewhat understandable :)
Right, I'm going to do several replies to your comment over the week as I come up with ideas (I'm also away for a few days without WiFi)
So, just thinking about some of the brands I've sniffed and also from my own collection...
Chanel les exclusifs- bois des isles, is sandalwood, a bit of citrus, and a spicy sweetness
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Chanel/Bois-des-Iles-1006.html
Serge lutens- une bois vanille
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Serge-Lutens/Un-Bois-Vanille-478.html
Lutens also does some fresher, lighter scents in the l'eau collection.

His 'signature style' is usually oriental, spicy, sometimes very oddly fruity, but the vanilla and l'eau maybe more you. You can get them on places like eBay and some department shops
I was in Selfridges today and Gucci have a nice collection called the alchemist garden, which have a good range of florals and woods represented
Diptyque have a large collection including eau duelle (vanilla)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Diptyque/Eau-Duelle-Eau-de-Parfum-49100.html
Again you can pick up their perfumes on eBay including minis
There are scent sampler websites where you can buy a sample from 1ml upwards to try before you buy, you can also get manufacturers samples via eBay too
I'll comment again soon after I've had another think 👍
thanks for investing so much time. i really appreciate it :)
Right, I've thought of another brand that might be accessible for you
https://www.jomalone.eu/new-sites
They have some nice summery light fragrances, and scented creams etc
Also you should either find them in store, but can order online too
thank you! I have heard of the famous wood sage and sea salt and got a sample. i will eventually check out others or get more samples first, since they are kind of expensive.
I've been using Against Nature by Timothy Han. It's my first foray into designer brands, and I love it's metallic, green notes. I spent many hours searching for a more-so unisex perfume, using the below site as a guide. In my search for carry options, the Decant site (below) is brilliant for a spritz on the go in case the perfume's longevity is fairly short, which Against Nature unfortunately is.
I also came across Scandalwood by Heretic Parfum and Attempted Murder by Sucreabeille, which I'm considering starting after this perfume is gone. I'm not much for layering scents, and prefer indie, alternative perfumes with herbal, marine, spice, and/or certain wood notes. If the perfume has floral notes, I prefer them to be mixed with other notes. There's also some sites that offer samples of the perfume if it's on the expensive side and you're unsure if it blends well with your natural pheromones.
https://www.fragrantica.com/ (You can search for the perfume to see its scent notes in case the website it's being sold on doesn't, or reverse search for the notes you want and what perfumes have it)
yeah i also just recently discovered fragrantica and its really cool. i will check out the filtering options more as i think it has mostly parfumes available in the US.
I have a few I like from a perfume shop near me that does 'dupes' of famous ones and you can get a discount if you refill the bottles - its a much more affordable way to 'test drive' some new ones.
My favourite two recently have both been Mugler Alien dupes - original Alien in spring but Alien Goddess for summer - its light, coconut-y and floral and I really like it in this heat.
i just tested it. It is really nice but a little bit too sweet for me
I don’t use a lot of perfumes because my skin is so sensitive. I like to pick up samplers occasionally but I frequently have to give most of them away because I get hives exactly where the spray hits my skin. I’ve had to give away some great smelling perfumes.
The one I really like that doesn’t bother my skin is Versace Bright Crystal. It smells nice and doesn’t give me hives. Sometimes I’ll find a fruity one from Pacifica that doesn’t bother me, but their fragrances don’t seem to last very long.
i will check it out, thanks :) I usually just put parfume on my clothes an only a little bit on my hair, not so much on my skin.
