Bullshit Antonelli penalty and the final lap showdown rug pull. This clown show sport. ๐Ÿคฆ

I feel this was the breaking point for Max, not sure if we will see him race in F1 next year.

Seems like Mercedes might have built a glass cannon.

First half of a race was a snoozefest. Second half, quite eventful.

Reliability was the real DotD.

Leclerc win finally!!!

Unfortunate we couldn't get that last lap showdown.

This weekend was tough to watch.

Ferrari just have to prove to everyone that they know how to fuck up a race! Like come on, I was saying to myself "well obviously pit Leclerc but Hamilton is too close to Russell" and as soon as I finish that transmission in my brain, they... Pit Hamilton

So he can come out behind Russell. With 4 laps left on a cleanup that will take 3 laps minimum. With Russell riding on 20 lap-old tires and no threat to Hamilton at all.

Wtf guys, clown show

No way to predict it. Unfortunate but I think they made the right call. They've caught shit for deciding it the other way. Very tricky, I think Ferrari have massively improved their decision making since last season

The fact is, the one behind has always the โ€œresponseโ€ advantage in these cases: if Ham stayed out, Rus would have probably pitted. And even without pitting, he had Mediums giving an advantage on a close quarters restart. I was surprised they didnโ€™t manage to reopen the track in 5-6 laps, as the crane was already carrying the RB after 1 lapโ€ฆ

With Russell riding on 20 lap-old tires and no threat to Hamilton at all.

Surely he would've pitted if Hamilton had stayed.

I guess they were assuming the race would get going with 2-3 laps to go and in that scenario it's nearly a sure thing that the Merc should pass Lewis.

Still though I think with the amount of variables it seemed to me leaving him out was the best call. I also think putting Russel to 2nd then jeopardizes 1st place potentially, leaving Lewis 2nd would have made that quite certain.

Iโ€™m also not sure if they thought they would come out ahead of Russell: I am always very confused by these โ€œspeed deltaโ€ (my ignorance probably) but they had 12-13s advantage and the run through was shown to be 10s, so it turns out correct with a 3s stop I guess

Speed delta would be much more important in the virtual safety car, where in theory the gap between cars is maintained.

With full safety cars I think they do have a maximum speed and other rules but clearly it's not the same for everyone since they always bunch up

Redbull gotta fix that damn wing.
