That's not good, but doesn't really compare to the gravity of something like John Howard's commitment to "never ever" introduce a GST, or the many broken promises many PMs have made around HECS, Medicare, etc.
But as first reported by the ABC, the prime minister won’t travel to this year’s event, which will run 31 July to 3 August, due to other commitments.
What other commitments? Must be pretty important.
The prime minister last year vowed to keep attending the annual celebration of Yolŋu culture so long as he was in the role.
“I commit here that every single year that I have the great honour to be Australia’s prime minister, I will be here and engaged with you,” Albanese told the Garma Key Forum in 2025.
Is this the dumbest commitment you've ever heard? He didn't even attend once after making it lol
Well, he's been attending since 2019 as per the article. So at least it's not as if last year was his first and last attendance
