At the centre of the international backlash is the case of Maria Shahbaz. She was just 13 when she was taken from her home in July 2025, forced to convert to Islam, and married off to a 30-year-old man. Her family fought the marriage in court, but Pakistan's Federal Constitutional Court officially upheld the union this past March, despite school and birth records proving she was a minor. Right now, Maria remains in her abductor's custody while her parents try to pull together a final legal appeal.

So like these dudes basically get these young girls to come to church with them, kind of proselytizing with sharp dressed wealthy looking guys who then get her in the mosque in this case and basically brain washing them while indoctrinating them and effectively grooming them. Then they marry them and rape them. Probably depending on how wealthy the girls parents are they get treated better or worse. My guess is being the smallest minority the Christians get treated the worst, followed by the Hindu girls.

I'm pretty sure this is happening literally everywhere child marriage is allowed and with or with out the conversion, depending on demographics. It's weird how at the end of the day religion is mostly about making sure women are kept down

Sounds more coerced than brainwashed.

I'd be in prison on a murder charge.
