I don't think a couple of decent revivals make up AT ALL for the diarrhea of bad ones

Wait, there's a new Scrubs? And it's not awful? BRB, gotta go binge that.

I paced myself by stretching it out over a week or two since there weren't that many episodes. Still wish they had made a few more episodes. The show didn't change much at all, which is a great thing.

I'm halfway through watching it all in one sitting. It's like a worm hug from an old friend. But the colour correction is awful, it burns my eyes.

Zach Braff said (a while ago) that they'd make a season two if they could get Dr Cox's actor back.

At least I thought that, but looking it up now, I can't find the quote. I did see several instances of sites quoting McGinley saying to expect him in season two. So ... Optimism?

I remember a quote from Braff saying if they get a season two expect to see more of McGinley since he was really only there for the start and finish of the season, perhaps that's what you're thinking of. At this point there's no if since season 2 just recently started production.

Your hypothesis seems likely to be correct.
