You either work for them, starve in the streets, or get deported to somewhere they choose.

Even in this scenario, the notion of rebellion does not cross your mind?

We had the world’s richest man purchase his own government organization in the last election, but somehow we’re not worried about corruption?

These are the same sacks of crap that literally said it was not OK to get a payment in advance for them to rule your way... but if they rule your way and you want to thank them with a gift after the fact, then it's all A-OK

it never was… like most American things, it was always just marketing

Exactly my point.

And to clarify, I understand what the other posters are saying (against my argument) but I am just done with all the protections for corporate profit

I personally don't buy much clothes or care about fashion but, like your example, I am very frequently buying tools or small repair parts that the corporations either refuse to provide (to force you to buy a brand new whatever) or make ridiculously expensive

Not sure what safety small plastic stuff or disposable fashion products need to pass to merit the extra prices

Aren't those same cheap products coming in through corporations that sell it under some brand at triple the cost?

The "local" industries have already been decimated by the big conglomerates which imported the same cheap Chinese stuff and sold it as a hilarious profit.

The only people that can import cheap Chinese stuff are corporations... don't you dare bypassing their money making schemes

The Trump administration has forced a Canadian-backed renewable energy company to abandon its landmark wind power project — and is demanding an equivalent investment in US fossil fuel development if the company wants to recoup $120 million USD in offshore wind leases.

Hi Lemmy,

I want to do a project that involves concrete. Basically I am making steps, giving them texture and stamping them so it looks somewhat like stones.

I have watched a million videos and I feel I can tackle this, plus I have a lot of areas to practice that won't be too visible so if the steps look a bit amateur it's fine.

My biggest question is about the effort of mixing concrete. I have a corded drill with a mixing paddle and most steps won't require much. However a few are larger and I would have to mix 10 bags or so. The drying time allows me to work one at a time and then do my stamping but I was wondering if this is feasible from an effort perspective.

I am an experienced DIYer but have not worked much with concrete, I made a coffee table, post bases, etc but never something that requires so many bags... am I setting myself up for failure / a broken back? hehehe

"Unexpectedly"... who would have thought that taking a chainsaw to all establish trade could be an issue?!
