Meanwhile in the Known Issues: "Entering Exclusive fullscreen mode crashes the game on Wayland"

You'd think they'd fix something like that before making the game Wayland-first.

Sorry, I should note that 26.3 is not released yet. This is a "snapshot", aka a development build. The full version of 26.3 will be released in a couple of months.

I updated the title to reflect that 26.3 is not released yet.

Good point. I should have realised.

this is a snapshot, so bugs like these are to be expected. it’s almost certainly getting fixed before the full release

one previous snapshot had a known bug where if the vulkan renderer (back then the default iirc) was used on macos, the entire screen would be pink upon joining a world, making the game unplayable. it got fixed in the following snapshot.

Oh, so we can't touch pink things now?

Doesn't it use whatever the desktop is using? I assume this really means that if the desktop is using Wayland, it directly uses Wayland libraries instead of some x11 adapter?

If it was written for X11, it would use xwayland on Wayland. That's what many apps use.

Hell yeah SDL!

does microsoft generate that unique system ID for linux users when you log into your MS account to get into minecraft?

Does this mean that they have finally solved the mouse centrering issue, which means that you can actually play Minecraft on Wayland now? Woho!
