This is the exact kind of apologia and handwringing that I'm talking about.

Treating them like they're some poor tribals on an isolated island whose only technology is fire and spear making who know not what they do.

They are not.

They are capable of asking questions. They actively choose not to, because they'd rather live in the comfort of the lie, then face the harsh reality of a truth.

Most of them have access to the sum total of human knowledge in their pockets (and in those slim minority of a minority of times when they cant, there are still other ways to access it all), which they refuse to use, because that would mean having to step out of their comfortable little sphere and face uncomfortable truths about the horrific things that they support and cant ever, in a thousand years, handle facing the harsh reality of.

Choosing to be ignorant is not an excuse, or makes them victims, or whatever other stupid bullshit people like you try to label them as.

No need to be so defensive there.

If you're a gamer, Nobara is based on Fedora KDE with all the gaming stuff pre-loaded and ready to go.

Being a misinformed voter is a choice.

They are not poor victims.

They are lazy asshats that wanted to believe obvious but comfortable lies, over having to do 10 minutes of work and dealing with uncomfortable truths.

I'm sick and tired of this handwringing for the poor, willfully ignorant voters who couldnt be bothered to question a single thing, or listen to anything that challenges their preconceived notions.

Its how wages have stayed so stagnant for 20 years.

cause people cant fight or leave, cause their healthcare depends on it.. especially if they have a very ill spouse/child

and they've taken so long to implement the 15 dollar minimum wage, that by the time its fully rolled out it will just be the new 7.25 with all the buying power it'll have with inflation and everything else, so nothing will fundamentally change for anyone.

People are acting like this is the first time republicans have willfully ignored the results of an election.

until disaster hits your area.

And someone will shit on it because one rich person lives within 5 miles of you, and calling you a stupid fuck for living there.

and oh god will the tears of indignation flow from you then.

You can tell them until your throat is hamburger meat and your voice is nothing but bloody spatter.

It doesnt matter.

Because they don't care.

Fox News/OANN/Whatever else will tell them its necessary to own the libs, and they'll cheer. They will self immolate before they dare have critical thought.

Neat. I'll keep a watch on it and pick it up on a sale.

I an avid, rabid RimWorld lover, but all the DLC have just added to much to the game for me to enjoy it anymore.

Rimworld in space?

So I can harvest alien organs and implant them into my crew? or sell them for enormous profit?

I have no idea where to post this, I assumed..since its a gaming mouse, the gaming linux community would be appropriate, Apologies if I am mistaken.

I have a g502 hero, and it is giving me no end of grief.. namely with regards to the DPI settings.

First and foremost, it just randomly resets itself to an absurdly high DPI

I use Piper, since everything I've found online says Piper works great for g502 mice on linux, and while I can use it to set the colors of the LEDs.. the DPI settings just don't stick.

I've tried setting all the DPI options to the same DPI I prefer, Doesnt work. I've tried disabling all the DPI settings except one, and doesnt work. I've even tried running piper via sudo and the DPI settings still don't change on the mouse (they change in Piper, though)

It seems like nothing I can set, as far as DPI goes, works. I know it is communicating with the mouse cause, like I said, I can change the LED colors and button configs.. but the DPI settings just wont stick, and worse, randomly change.

and I know, I say random, and some people might thing I'm accidentally hitting the resolution up button since its right there next to m1, but I'm not. I can have the DPI set, via the DPI up/down buttons on the mouse, then get up and walk away.. and when i come back, its back at absurd meth speed again.

Its genuinely not only driving me nuts, but really screwing with my ability to play games.

If anyone has any suggestion or solution, can you please share them with me?

If you got this far, then thankyou for reading this half rant half, half tech plea.

gamers nexus just dropped a 3 hour video where they talk to various companies involved in the consumer PC space, some of whom really open up about their costs and economics and how operating in america just isnt feasible under the current tariffs

Not once, since Fallout 4's release, in god only knows how many hundreds of hours of play time, have I gotten the perfectly preserved pie..

UNTIL TODAY.

I jumped up in such excitement that I smashed my knee into my desk and now walk like a feral, but god damnit who cares about pain when you have THE PIE.

The Original Command and Conquer, Red Alert, Generals, and Renegade have all been released under GPL licensing to the public.

I was cleaning out my project closet the other day and I found an entire bottle of resin for my printer, still sealed and unopened... but it is several years old at this point.

I didnt see an expiration date or anything on it, so I just wanted to ask before I open it and potentially make a huge mess... Does Resin Expire or otherwise go bad with time if its factory sealed? or in general?

These are straight, parallel roads (made with a single drag, so no like, plop a section, then plop another section) on a flat surface. and I keep getting weird gaps and misalignment and other stuff that is observably minor but is making me want to rip my goddamn fucking hair out with how its screwing up symmetry and other stuff.

The only thing I can find about this is to disable various snappings and to make sure the land is flat. I have redrawn this area like 2 dozen times trying various combinations of snapping and not snapping settings and it still does this same damn shit, and the land is flat.

Personally, I find it endlessly frustrating and even terrifying to be in the passenger seat with a driver who jumps in the car and immediately goes.. Then worries about Seatbelts/Radio/AC/Mirrors/Plugging in Phone/etc etc while driving.

I finally picked up CS2, and was wanting to install a couple mods to get going.

Immediately put off by paradox demanding an account to install mods from paradox mods, so I am trying to get mods from elsewhere.. and the only thing i can find is stuff from a year+ ago saying BePinEx is needed to install mods.

Just wanted to make sure if this is still what you have to do today, before I go down a rabbit hole.

But it'll probably be better known as the Mako Mk.2 by anyone who played Mass Effect 1, because holy shit its the Mako.

I spent 3 days trying to get FOLON to work following both the official website guide and every post I could find on the internet, and I finally said fuck it and played around with it myself and figured out how to get it running.

I'm posting here in case anyone else has had the same problems I did and don't have a solution. The first half is pretty much identical to their instructions

This does not use the FOLON Downgrader, Because I dont like the idea of signing into my steam account through someone elses program.

Also don't be in a steam beta. Use release steam

  • Run steam in console mode as per instructions here. On Linux just close steam and run "steam -console" in terminal
  • Download all the depot packs like they instruct.
  • Create a folder elsewhere and go to where the files downloaded and empty each folder into the created folder so you have a full build of the last version of Fallout 4 (Do not alter this directory further, unless you want to have to go through all that pita downloading again, so only copy files from here, do not move them from here)
  • Go find appmanifest_377160.acf in /steam/steamapps and make it read only
  • Go to your /steam/steamapps/common/Fallout4 folder and delete everything it, and copy the Fallout 4 you just downloaded into the folder.
  • Launch fallout once, i dont know how far you have to go, i typically go to character creation, to make sure the game creates all the necessary files
  • Go to GOG and download the Fallout London files. should be 10 files, one being an .exe and the rest being bin files
  • This is where we diverge. Run protontricks, If you don't have it installed, then read install instructions here, and select Fallout 4
  • Ignore any missing file arch 65 errors, keep clicking okay until the "What do you want to do" window pops up
  • Click install application, Ok
  • In this next window, click cancel
  • In this window, select Run an Arbitrary Executable (.exe/.msi/.msu) and click okay.
  • In the file explorer that pops up, navigate to your FOLON installer (at the time of this posts edit it is ~~setup_fallout_london_2.31_revision2_(64bit)(75054)~~ setup_fallout_london_v1.01_iv2.31r3(64bit)_(75422).exe) and run it
  • Select your desktop as the destination (Don't select your Fallout 4 folder, It'll just install FOLON into a Fallen London subfolder)
  • one the install is done and over, select every file in that folder and copy (don't move, copy, You want to save this folder as well in case something screws up so you don't have to through the install steps again) the Data and src folders (this is just f4se source code folder, but it'd go in /Fallout if you installed f4se manually anyway) and all loose files beneath it to your fallout 4 folder, and tell your file manager to merge folders and overwrite files.
  • Move the files in _Appdata to ~Steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Fallout4/, overwriting what is there
  • Move files in _Config to ~/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Fallout4/, overwriting whats there.

You should be able to launch Fallout 4 now, and have it load directly into Fallout london, and thanks to making appmanifest read only, steam will never update the game and bork your mod.

Now there are still lots of bugs in FOLON, like the train crash outside the starter area, which most people fix by installing the Buffout mod, but thats beyond the scope of this post

If any of you out there had woes getting FOLON to work like I did I really hope this helps

Edit- About 30 minutes ago, as of this edit, a patch was released to address many problems with FOLON. None of the techniques I've listed here for installing the main mod works with the patch. I am continuing to experiment and if I can figure it out I will edit this post again or make a replied post.

Edit 2-

Okay, I could not find a way to get the patcher to work to patch the game

But the base install files are also updated to the same version as the patch, so just redownload the executable and the bin files from gog and follow the steps in the original guide

""We were finally at a state in the project where we could play through the whole [game]. And it became very clear that we were missing the large final location that was going to tie the story together and have a satisfying action-filled payoff," Shen said. "I was both implementing the main quest and leading the quest design team, so I had absolutely no time. The entire quest design team was already overbooked.""

The quest design team being overbooked and not having time certainly explains a lot.
