I know this isn't likely specific to lemmy.ca, but is sorting by Hot super bugged? The first page of results are fine, but then the 2nd page is only posts from a random community from years ago

Looks like that perhaps hot ranking is still bugged despite a fix being rolled out https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3428

Not sure if it's the same issue but I see a more general bug where every now and then the content shown does not match the selection (Hot/Active/New etc.) at all. Refreshing the page fixes it.

Using the web interface it seems to be working totally fine, I went 5 pages deep with no issues. If you're using an app, the app may me creating issues.

Weird this is with the web interface page 1 now, it's worse than ever

So I think the issue is with certain communities. I just unsubbed from programmerhumor@lemmy.ml and my Hot feed is now fine. I think some community posts must still be getting a weird score calculation

Does the issue return of you subscribe to it again?

It does, I also saw someone reporting a similar issue on asklemmy

I noticed my hot feed on Lemmy.world is more up to date than on Lemmy.ca plus some other odd behaviour.

I read that to keep hot feed working well, instances need restarting every 6 hours or so.

How often do you guys restart?

I'll check with the admin of Lemmy.world. I recall their restarting was to resolve a different issue.

I use Memmy and you can set your preferences in the app
