Pro tip: You can make 3-century-old weathering pretty convincingly if you're lazy/sloppy with your wash and patchy/liberal with your drybrushing.

I'm afraid your rhetorical question is unfathomably silly; can you rephrase it in the form of reasons why I wouldn't want Battletech to get the Firefly treatment?
Well, for starters, he's a sexual predator. Further, ever since the original Avengers movie in 2012 his brand of writing humor has proliferated everywhere and has long overstayed its welcome (most notoriously in the MCU but also Star Wars and elsewhere). It was good when it was niche but now that it's everywhere it's obnoxious.
I've eyeballed that model several times, it looks great painted up. Nice work!
