Last night I had Gale thunder wave 3 guys into a lvl 4 spirit guardians at once, they all died instantly. So fucking satisfying.
Its so good a spell they nerfed its range by 5 ft
I modded the range back in in an attempt to get BG3 closer to 5E. I totally understand why they nerfed the range now.
Well, you would also have to code it to only hurt enemies on their turn. The ability to move around with it makes it double OP in BG3.

I was trying to come up with a title referencing the kitchen cellar in BG3 but couldn't think of anything.
Channeling negative energy is kind of like fumigation if you think about it.
A few sessions back in my regular game, our home base, a local tavern in contested gang territory got attacked by our main rivals.
We had two glyphs of warding under the floorboards loaded with spirit guardians that the barbarian and paladin fired up respectively. As they were with through a glyph, they technically weren't concentration either, and with the confined space, it was a massicare.
The DM had clearly undercountred for the defense but also that's what they can expect when they hit us in our home, so it felt good to stomp that encounter.
