hah. i stopped using Google search for about 2 years now. DuckDuckGo still shows Newpipe in search results btw. Nevertheless this sucks because only so many people use DuckDuckGo (There's DOZENS of us!)

I've been using startpage for years and it also still gives the link to Newpipe

I've been using Ecosia since it lets me fool myself into thinking I'm making a difference and it also still shows NewPipe.

Same with brave search and duckduckgo, first result

Every time I see an unskippable ad, or a second ad, or fuck even 15 seconds of ads, or just want audio, , I open newpipe instead. Hopefully it keeps working.

Newpipe needs to get on codeberg or their own forgejo instance asap

While I echo the sentiment here ("Stop using Google!"), I am also concerned at the effects this may have on people that might have been helped by newpipe otherwise (and the chance that they go on their degoogle journey, spreading the word, or both).

I am suspicious enough of Google to imagine them looking forward to boosting those malicious clones in whatever way they can (without opening themselves up to trouble), and that any attempts for getting them to act against those malicious clones will fall on deaf ears.

I hope that there's a way to resolve this that bypasses Google (and its so-called search engine).

I de-Googled about 5 years ago. I think it was around that time they removed Kodi.
