Wolverine is far too grumpy to be a halfling. He is a dwarf.

I've been tossed pretty far on my druid by transforming to a cat and having my friends high strength character throw me.
Now I don't know how this works but if you can transform into animals, a bird would make more sense and forgo the tossing entirely.
I haven't unlocked the bird transformation if there is one. Still in act 1.
I think it depends on how far you can be thrown. I can be thrown right now as far most characters can dash and it automatically takes you out of your transformation when you land, because the throw damages you and the cat only has 2 hp, so you don't have to spend a bonus action to come out of it when you reach your destination.
If that is the case, then that is a rather smart play.
To become bird, your options are either an item or transmission wizard.
I mean... you can? It's just that you don't go very far and the character lands prone.
Oh I know. What I want is to be able to have Karlach toss my halfling and the game transition to my halfling's turn where I'm hacking and slashing on the way down. A man can dream.
In a real game you could do this by holding your attack action until you're thrown at the enemy (and make an acrobatics check to land upright as a reaction if your DM is kind).
BG3 just can't account for every possibility from the tabletop game, though it comes closer than essentially any other game so far.
