The time is spent on marketing a product. Nobody's gonna recognize some developer or game designer. It's the major reason they do this.

If we want an honest Game Awards, we have to do it ourselves. Let people nominate their own games from any platform, let actual gamers host it, introduce breaks, give devs ample time to say stuff, introduce chat room where the devs can hang out and answer questions, ...

What's the reason we have to wait on commercial company to make this?
