Exactly why this law needs made clear:

No one is entitled to sex

'Withholding sex' isn't a mark against someone in a divorce and in no way should it be a factor in whether someone is entitled to their fair share of the fruits of a shared life should it come to an end.

If sex is housework, sleeping with that person is a chore, and god if that's not the world we live in anymore.

I agree, 99.9% of the way. My brother makes a smurf now and again to play competitive marvel rivals with those of us that don't play but would still like to have a 2-set match instead of a single side push.

Noncompetitive is locked to single push and so you don't have a chance to play as both attacker and defender, so it doesn't really feel like a full match.

I don't really care much, some in the group do. He's not ridiculously good, just a few ticks higher than people who don't play competitive unless the whole group is in

Thank you for the detailed reply.

I would agree, anecdotally, from my time in social work. Kids that missed meals, kids that had parents not paying attention to them or not interacting at the end of the day (often because they're still at work, single parenting is hell), all little tiny factors that build up over years until you're not a few weeks behind, you're years behind your peers.

I've seen firsthand what happens to kids with decent brains when they're not utilized and raised in an anti-intellectual household. Lots of wasted potential, and unfortunately, they become a very easy-to-influence group.

Let's not hyperbolize an already bleak fact. The average american reads at a 7th-8th grade level, and 54% of Americans read below a 6th grade level

It's getting slowly worse post-covid though

Played rocket league to de-stress from Dota. Now, none of that. My brain and heart and sanity just can't take it. Mostly a solo game kind of person these days or co-op.

Statistics disagree with this. Some are listing 'porn seeking' where they include erotica and non-video content as high as 44%, others that are looking at video only are showing 11-15% or so. I'd have to go looking again, but that's still not a small number of users, much more than 1%.

Do love the amount of tubers they eat, but I don't know if I've had much that beats a proper gumbo and some bread pudding.

I don't know. My assumption is that they're easier to put together than well thought out titles and clear discussion lines, and there's a certain level of inherent 'safety' in posting a picture/meme that does a lot of the heavy lifting for you for a joke. Not that I don't like them, just that that's my read of why they choose them over discussion

You ask 'wouldn't it be better' if there were less memes

The community, through it's posting, voting, and reposting, has chosen Memes regardless of whether it'd be better.

A lot of answers in here say "that's how the fediverse works, people post what they want and engage with what they want, what they don't want they can unsubscribe or block to curate their own feed, to avoid seeing parts of what the collective is sharing/talking about when using memes".

What you're describing requires unilateral control over what content various communities will engage in. It doesn't matter if that's what people like, so much as it's what people continue to choose. If they like it, great. If they don't, they'll either curat their feed and not have a clue what you're talking about regarding memes on the Frontpage, or they aren't bothered or even like the memes on the Frontpage and aren't looking to seek out more nuanced discussions and serious threads.

I don't think he's taking a shitty stance in stating that your job is relatively safe. Just that there are tons of safety regulations and protections that keep your profession off of a list like this

'Organize a general strike'

You mean the thing they quash here with prejudice? The thing the US will build a jail on top of you for? The thing that they've prevented a majority of Americans from even attempting with the fucked social net and the paycheck-to-paycheck existence, dangling you just above homelessness (which they do nothing to fix or help people who are)?

Maybe in another part of the country I could feel that my neighbors and myself would provide and help one another, but I can't even get these people to pick up their dog shit, let alone vote in their own best interests, or god forbid, take on the government that's telling them I'm the devil and my cohorts are demons.

I agree with the want for one, but I think people's wants and wishes get in the way of the colder reality. I used to think things like the trail of tears would be impossible to happen in the modern day here with technology and social mediabl, but honestly? I think the government would live stream it at this point
