I agree with all of that in its entirety, the world was a much different and considerably smaller place.

To play devil's advocate though, there is potential for the right person or persons to harness social media to draw historical attention to one. I don't think this will happen, and it would turn into a giant mess of a media shitstorm, but it is an interesting idea to think about.

That's a good question but there's a lot of mythos behind it that I'd have to write a paper for.

An easy example is that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity and worshipped as God's incarnation on Earth. Muslims and Jews categorically refute this in its entirety, meaning the only thing they share is the Abrahamic god.

No it sounds like a ballin hair metal band.

Our government is not as fun as a ballin hair metal band.

There are some pretty big ones that did work though. The Women's Suffrage movement in the US successfully used a hunger strike to force Woodrow Wilson's hand and he was put in a position where he had no choice but to cave to the movement.

That's incorrect though. Catholics, Protestants, Methodists, etc are sects of Christianity, the broader body of the religion. Judaism and Islam are their own religions (albeit Abrahamic in origin), with Sunni/Shia being sects of Islam for example.

These ideas still work in smaller nations, but the idea of the American public toppling the US government in 2025 is absurd. Even if you ignore that we're completely incapable of finding commons goals as a nation, you're still being turned to pink mist by a drone while you're waving your assault rifle you bought at Wal-Mart around on your front lawn.

And if you add in what I ommitted, its impossible. We can't even get over half our population to stop supporting pedophilia, there's no way they're coming together for a revolution.

This would just turn into a years long, brutal, violent inaurgency with probably several civil wars occurring at the same time as fighting the government.

Yeah see, I wouldn't do that. I would just be visibly irritated and dissociating about beating that person up.

But that would be fucking stupid and unjustifiably mean, so I have the responsible wherewithal to keep my jerk ass at home lmao

I'm at the point now that I say we just fucking go for it and elect even crazier people than Trump. We're going down no matter what. Let's just see how crazy shit can get. Let's make Ezra Miller Secretary of Defense.

One of the terms of marrying my partner and buying a home together is we'd be pragmatic about responsibilities. I fucking hate paperwork and am bad with money, so the wife handles all the bills. She hates labor and we want to save money, so I perform basically 100% of the physical duties around the house, from construction projects to small shit like monthly deep cleans. It's a bit old fashioned, but it works great for us.

One of my terms was that she did all of our grocery shopping (she wanted it anyways, she likes it). I can't stand the lack of situational awareness from people in stores. It drives me fucking nuts.

This was really interesting. Thank you.

If you're talking relative to objective political spectrum and not left and right in the sole context of American politics in a vacuum, you're entirely right and I agree. Joe Biden would have been like a center-right wing politician in a lot of Europe.

But my point still stands. Irrespective of what either party actually is, he had the support of neither. Which is crazy considering he'll be mayor of the largest city in the US.

Hey guys, I just moved over from Reddit like a lot if folks there. Any longboarders in Massachusetts? Looking to ride with people and meet like-minded folks.
