Fuck these fucking fuckers, they fucking fucked everything the fucking fuck up.

Think what a nice world we could have had if there was no hatred based on race, gender, sexual orientation or other such factors. Imagine if people just didn't make a big deal about seeing diverse people in film or in their country. Why is that so much to ask? Imagine if people were mature and didn't think it such an imposition to press 1 for service in English. Imagine people not losing their minds about accommodating the fact that not everyone has the same needs.

Happy fucking holidays.

I'm at the point now that I say we just fucking go for it and elect even crazier people than Trump. We're going down no matter what. Let's just see how crazy shit can get. Let's make Ezra Miller Secretary of Defense.

Aaaand... here we go. I was wondering how long it would take the Trump regime to trample on this bit of first Amendment right.

Labeling anything "terrorism" effectively suspends constitutional rights in the US, and you can thank fucking Dubya for that. He deserves to rot in hell every bit as much as the orange Nazi.

They can abuse language to call anything anything else. That doesn't mean they can get it past a judge or a jury. For example, calling the declining crime situation in Chicago "insurrection" as a pretext to send in the National Guard was rejected by the courts.

They keep doing this, but it looks like the deference the courts used to show them on these matters has been disappearing as judges accumulate evidence that they're lying.

That's great, but by the time it takes for the wrongs to be righted, people are arrested on trumped-up charges and their lives are being ruined - if nothing else, by the bills the legal representatives they have to retain to fight the administration send them.

Being proven right in court at the cost of ending up skint is a pyrrhic victory, and that's exactly what the Trump regime is counting on: most people prefer not going out into the street to film the ICE Tontom Macoute doing their dirty work than risk being thrown into the slammer and losing their children's inheritance in attorney fees.

Just the sheer waste of human resources is insane. This is all work going into GOP bullshit while China develops technology and thier people. The solution to many of our problems is taxing the ever living fuck out of the rich (especially the ones with billions around AI) and reinvesting it but the entire west refuses to do it.

China invests in modern transportation and clean energy generation.

US invests in violence and artificial general intelligence.

Which model will come out on top? Difficult to say. Historically speaking, the most violent usually dominates. For those of us who dream of a better future for humanity, the Chinese model is obviously preferred.

A judge? A jury?

Closed Military tribunals would like a word

Filming acts of terrorism is terrorism

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 44 points 3 days ago (1 children)

At this point the only domestic terrorists are in the employ of the U.S. Government.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (2 children)

They admitted it awhile ago. Does everyone have goldfish brains?!

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm gonna need to see trump's donkey-brain certificate.

[–] TisI@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

It clearly says he doesn't have a donkey brain.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 17 points 3 days ago

Well, if both filming the gestapo and blowing up federal buildings are terrorism...

I don't think they get what the consequences of trying to make all acts of resistance share the same punishment are.

[–] cronenthal@discuss.tchncs.de 24 points 3 days ago

Words have lost all meaning in the US. Freedom, terrorism, facts, hoax, war, peace, truth etc., none of these can be used with their real intent anymore. The first victim of American fascism was language itself.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 33 points 3 days ago (2 children)

If this becomes precedent then filming any arrest will become domestic terrorism.

It's always a slippery slope.

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 23 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

The whole country has been sliding down that slope at 100 mpg for the entire year.

[–] Impound4017@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 days ago

Well, at least we’re getting good fuel efficiency in this dogshit economy?

[–] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

That’s the point I think. They want an us vs. them scenario and they’re trying to fast-track it with this shit.

[–] zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 days ago

Even ISIS starts to be impressed by how many terrorists the US now has.
