When I was little, maybe middle-school age at oldest (can't remember the exact year) my family lived with my heavy Christian grandparents. The room I slept in at the time of this story even had a Bible sitting next to the CRT TV.

I never really woke up in the middle of the night unless I had nightmares. This one night I woke up in the middle of the night, no dreams had at all, and I saw a shadow man standing in the open doorway. I closed the door every night. And the shadow man - it wasn't like an actual 3 dimensional person, he was like a 2D Shadow that stood like a man, no face, literally just like a shadow. It didn't move, it just stood there.

This wasn't sleep paralysis - I could move and make noise, and I felt an overwhelming amount of fear and anxiety. I silently cried, trying to play dead. I eventually fell back asleep, and the next morning I asked everyone in the house if it was them checking on me. Not a single one of them had checked on me that night. The door was also still open in the morning.

The weirdest part? The shape of this shadow man looked exactly how my older brother looks now, over 10 years later, and back when this happened my room was directly next to my brother's. It wasn't a dream. It wasn't sleep paralysis. I know what I saw that night, and I will never forget the experience I had. This is why I believe in ghosts and demons.

Whether people believe me or not is up to them, but I will always swear this was all real. I've had real feeling dreams. This was not that. The door couldn't open itself.

Ever since I came out as trans I didn't know what to make my new fursona, and even after landing on an idea I just didn't have the drive to draw. Tonight I finally forced myself to draw her. She's just a short pink bunny girl

Did you know Don't Forget is about the Roaring? "When the light is subsumed by shadow" = "when the light is running low". "When the fountains fill the sky" = "when the shadows start to grow". There's also "There's a light inside your soul that's still shining in the cold" Lancer says he's cold before turning to stone in chapter 2, and during the Roaring all the darkners turn to stone, and the soul literally has the ability to make light as seen in Chapter 4, the same chapter where a titan was summoned, something that happens during the Roaring.

I'm almost certain Raise up your bat could also play into this, but I'm not really clever enough to think about exactly how.

Anyway, anyone else ever notice this?

So... I beat both routes today and... how about a dedicated thread to talk about the Chapter 5 weird route?

Obviously spoilers ahead.

Personally, I think this is the most intense out of left field thing Toby has ever made. The fact we skip an entire chapter... that's insane. And the drowning(?) Like... are they dead or... maybe they stumbled into a dark fountain? I also believe Noelle could be the angel now. I never really subscribed to any theory on who it was before, but after hearing Noelle mention growing wings and flying away, that's what got me to believe. At bare minimum for the weird route.

Drop theories, discuss your thoughts, etc, on the weird route, especially after chapter 5. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and theories.
