I didn't recognize any from a quick glance but I could've know ShepGoesBlep and FuroGrape from their comics where their sonas appear. Heard of some of the others too :3
You're not doing anything wrong. I can guarantee you most furries I've ever met can name at most 1-2 of these people excluding Carpet Samples, who was a major meme like 15 years ago. The majority of furries simply are not plugged in to popufurs and furry drama.
Going purely off fursuits, I only knew ShepGoesBlep, Majira Strawberry, and BetaEtaDelota (Levi). I heard about Kero a long time ago, but never saw their fursuit
Don't worry about it at all. Nothing against the popufurs but I don't think they are what make the fandom so freaking good.

The only furry in my time (because I am so out of the loop with modern shit going on in the fandom) that turned out to be scum was 2 The Ranting Gryphon. And I only found out he was a piece of shit because I randomly was like "what ever happened to that guy" and looked him up about a year ago.
