If you’re just trying to smash, then get a cheap hotel/ airbnb or something. Anyone that wants to actually date you and is worth your time, won’t care if you have roommates. You might not get laid straight out the gate, but that’s not really the entire point of dating for those seeking a relationship. At least that’s my take anyway, speaking as a heterosexual lady.

The whole system is fucked. Wage stagnation, increasing cost of living, lack of affordable housing, dynastical wealth concentrated in the hands of fewer and fewer elite citizens and oligarchies.

Before these issues are improved upon dramatically, there’s simply going to be a growing number of homeless people.

If the solution is to throw homeless individuals in jail, then what? Jails are still funded by tax dollars, so why not be proactive and invest that money in getting people housed by building more affordable housing, providing more jobs with things like infrastructure improvements that are badly needed throughout the country, rather than taking punitive measures? I think this needs to happen at the federal level because it is indeed a broken system of the entire country.

Those poor babies. Who the fuck throws an 8 month old and 9 year old out of a moving vehicle on the freeway?! What a monster. I hope that 9 year old girl is able to heal from this… by some miracle. Such a senseless tragedy.

Don’t think I need to see a documentary to learn what is already obvious. Of course the 1% are obsessed with wealth and power, and have no qualms about exploiting workers. Otherwise they wouldn’t horde obscene amounts of wealth while children starve, etc.

I buy random things way more than I should. Always seems like a good idea at the time, even when 90% of these splurges ends up being something I definitely didn’t need. Alas, the dopamine hits from painstakingly researching and identifying the perfect, useless item are all too real. Bought a three pack (it was a crazy discount to buy in a pack of 3) of 6 outlet, low-profile plug, surge protectors.

Outlets in my house are somehow always on walls where I need something pushed against them. Anywho, you should not beat yourself up over some deodorant, is all I’m getting at.

People driving massive, gas-guzzling tanks are safer on the road at the expense of every reasonably sized vehicle. Unless you need a larger SUV or truck for a specific purpose, i.e. for work or hauling, get off the fucking road with these damn things. My brother-in-law died last week in an accident involving a Ford 550 that stalled in the fast lane. BIL driving SUV for work; couldn’t stop in time, rammed into back of 550, killed. The driver of Ford 550? Uninjured.

This, of course, doesn’t even begin to touch on unnecessary over consumption of fuel, which is an equally significant concern.

I’ve been saying this for years but the death of my brother in law really drove home the point for me—if you’re not using your behemoth tank for work or specific use case hauling—you have no business driving it, and should not be allowed to use as everyday commuter vehicle.

Meanwhile, as a lady, I’ve started buying men’s tee shirts exclusively. Maybe I’ll turn to men’s pants for pockets next.

I absolutely HATE Walmart. I should hate them for their exploitation of workers, their shit products or any number of their shit corporation’s dealings. But the thing that drew the final blow for me was an incident dealing with their self checkout and their system of ascribing guilt for theft without any due process.

I went to a store about half an hour away from where I lived as they aren’t common near where I’m from. Bought several items including a marker board. Checked out using self checkout. Marker board was too big to fit into a bag, so I set it aside to bring with me after scanning everything. Well, as luck would have it, when I got home I realized I never brought my marker board home but I had paid for it and had the receipt to prove it. I called the store and explained the situation to the manager at customer service who assured me I could come to the store and pickup the item, no troubles.

So I drove back up to the store hour round trip. I get there and the customer service line is about 15 people deep at this point. Only one person behind the counter. After about 30 min waiting in line, I finally get up to the counter and explain my issue, showing the receipt and that I had spoken to a manager earlier and that they said to come in and it would be fine to pickup the marker board. Well, not only was it not fine, but then the woman behind the counter, after having a discussion with her security dept over the phone who “reviewed the footage” from my checkout, decided that I had actually attempted to put something into my pocket to steal something!? Incredulously, I asked her why on earth I would go through the trouble to come all this way back to the store for an item that I clearly paid for along with about $60 worth of other stuff which again, also clearly paid for, if I had stolen something!? She refused to budge and I was honestly shocked she had the audacity to accuse me of theft 100% seriously. I left that store and haven’t set foot in a Walmart since. It’s been 4 years and it’s the best consumer decision I’ve ever made.

It was court ordered. I did not feel like it helped me. I did what I had to do to complete my probation and I got out. This program was funded by the county, so perhaps a privately funded rehab would have been better. In either case, my behavior has not changed, mostly because I felt it didn’t need to change.
