I’ve been in your exact situation, and I’ll tell you what was once told to me by someone older and wiser than myself. When you determine that your plate is full, you ask your manager to help you prioritize the tasks you’re being assigned. You lay out all the shit that’s been dumped on you, and ask for the order in which they want it done.

If they understand, they’ll stop piling on and you’ll get some relief.

If they don’t understand or say something like “you’ll figure it out” look for the door and find another job as quickly as possible.

Hey, since you mentioned gout (and I read the rest so I know you don’t have it) that’s definitely something totally preventable and treatable, and also definitely something you don’t want to leave untreated.

But hey, fellow ~~Clevelander~~ beehawer, welcome aboard!

I’m in the ER. Probably the doctor standing directly in front of me.

DuckDuckGo works fine for me, it checks most of your boxes. Not sure about the ad blocker, but I run a pi-hole on my home network so I don’t see most of them anyway.

They’re rightly concerned about losing jobs to automation.

Just a thought, and I may be way off because admittedly I don’t know a lot about how it works - wouldn’t Ukraine have legitimately registered their SL gear? If it’s not registered by Ukraine and it’s in Ukraine, can’t they kill the uplink?

I’m old enough now that I’m more financially secure than I ever have been before, and I still think we should tear it all down and create a more equitable system for everyone. Perhaps I’m in the minority though for people my age.

Politicians sew division, fear, and hatred knowing that this will allow them to continue fleecing everyone who works for a living. We should never forget that it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.

Eating the rich isn’t a coup de grace, it’s the beginning.

Get started without us, we’ll catch up. It will take a lot of outside pressure to get the wheels turning faster, but it will happen.

Learning to have a conversation and not a monologue is also a pretty solid skill.

People stand there talking without a break and I just stop listening.

So currently I’m running a 5800x and a regular 2060. I’ve got a 650w gold PSU that’s about 4 years old, no problems with it at all. I’m thinking about upgrading to a RX 7800 XT because GeForce prices are perpetually absurd. It seems like it would be enough power, but the few things I’ve read say that I need at least a 750w if I go with the AMD (because they’re power hungry?), but 650w would be fine for a 4070ti. If I have to buy a new PSU, I feel like it would wipe out any savings I might get by buying AMD over Nvidia. How can I definitively know if I need more power?

Full disclosure, I understand the concept of undervolting, but I’m not nearly confident enough to mess with the settings.
