Yep, like I totally came out to face increased harassment for shits and giggles, it's so much fun.

Yep, so many "self help" books have such great advice like "No energy? Have you tried going for a walk?". WITH WHAT ENERGY‽‽‽

I've done this about migraine. "Incurable neurological brain condition" gets lots of sympathy, migraine gets "oh boohoo, you have a "headache"".

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

Yep. Apparently babies deserve to suffer for...being born? I've been told I should see my horrible migraine as a gift from God that he thinks I'm strong enough to carry. 🤬 Ah yes, the "gift" of unending pain. That's not a gift, that's a curse.

Yep, but if you ask them why babies have cancer they suddenly don't have time to debate you.

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

Yep. Like rape was considered property damage. Gross.

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 21 points 11 months ago

Yeah, they really don't like you pointing out that they cherry picked the bible when what they are saying is the opposite of what a quote means in full.

Hey look, it's me

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Yep, my one grandma would do this, it was so irritating to go anywhere with her.

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Or stuff like

Me- mentions in passing that I have a chronic illness

Them- watch this 2 hour rambling video about a completely different condition and you'll be cured

Me- no, that would be like telling a paraplegic to watch a video about diabetes and then they'll no longer be paralyzed

Them- I was just trying to help, you just want to be in pain for the pity party

[-] Captain_Waffles@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Yep, I believed all this crap, right up until I could really think and started asking questions. Then my faith was suddenly the issue and it wasn't that they couldn't answer my questions, it was that if I stopped asking I would find the answers. 🙄

Yep, or a caffeine addict who is flabbergasted I don't consume caffeine. (I'm not calling everyone who consumes caffeine a caffeine addict, just the ones who literally can't function without it) Like I can't consume more than a negligible amount of caffeine because it triggers my migraine. But apparently something is wrong with me because I'm not dependent on a drug to stay awake.
