I worked in Yellowstone for a season. People are idiots and despite being told that the animals are wild beasts and we're just visiting their home, they think these animals are tame when they wander into civilization.

They're not. They never will be.

Being late for work because of wild life is common, and while verified, no one gets shit for it.

One day I had to call my boss and say I'd be late because there was a bison blocking the exit of my employee dorm. She just said be safe and get in when you can. Bison wandered off 5 minutes later and I went into my shift. All good, no further questions.

When the local elks gave birth and nested in Mammoth Hot Springs for the first week of their babies lives, it was super hectic and crazy. The elk moms were vicious. Went to pop out for a smoke during my shift, and rapidly realized the usual spot was no longer friendly. Employee rules were relaxed and smoking in front of the hotel was allowed, briefly, because safety was paramount.

In the same time span, me and a few friends were walking back from the employee pub to our dorms and we ended up getting trapped on the loading dock for the employee cafeteria, because elk don't climb stairs. We had to be rescued by rangers because we were essentially besieged by a vicious (protective) elk.

But you can't stop a foreign tourist from putting a baby on top of a wild bison if they don't understand English. You can just call the local ranger station to send out rangers to try to keep people safe.

As a side note, national parks are FEDERAL land. Everything is handled in a federal court house, with federal charges, and rangers most certainly are federal LEOs. This includes being stupid with the wild life.

Obama wore a suit, and he got shit because they didn't like the color.

Trump on the other hand, wears diapers and has inspired his moronic base to wear them publicly as well. Not just, under their clothing like a normal person, they think its better than pants.

Not autistic (never been tested, wouldn't surprise me though).

Anyway, I work... medically adjacent. IT support for medical folks.

Being precise with your medications and dosages is much appreciated by everyone involved. Keep it up!

Also, OP, depending on locale, NyQuil can have different things in it, including being up to 10% ethanol.

But yeah, 50mg of diphenhydramine HCL, and a shot or a beer would do it for most.

As an American, fuck yes, absolutely, 100%.

As a Texan, fuck yes, absolutely, 1000%.

The wife and I are already considering leaving the state. Prices for everything are rising to ridiculous levels.

An apartment I could have afforded on my own a decade ago would require three incomes, and the neighborhoods are no less violent and crime ridden. Food deserts, lack of health care options, lack of gainful employment in that geographic area, all deterrents to paying more than I do now for a mortgage.

If I thought I had the skills and wherewithal to strike out and homestead I would. Alas, I do not.

I long to leave "the grid," but require medication to function as a normal human being. As such, I am beholden to the system. I must cooperate against my better interest to attain medication to live. I am, for lack of a better term, a slave to it.

Before anyone comes in calling a race card play, or any other shit, I am a cis het white male. In theory, I am the problem, and yet I suffer the same.

I decided at the age of seven that life, as we know it, was not worth living. 30 some odd years later, that has not changed.

This, I think, is one of the largest changes Trump instilled in his followers.

They aren't scared of being outed as a racist because the former cheeto in chief was always saying the quiet part out loud. Then his supporter politicians. Then his base.

I'm balding, horribly, and as such shave my head. Otherwise I wind up looking like I spent a vacation in Chernobyl.

The amount of people who are openly racist around me has quadrupled since 2016, easily.

Makes me wanna see if there are any SHARP groups around locally.

Social engineering, arguably, is one of the harder things to learn.

It's a collection of soft skills, and if you've been paying attention to rank and file tech jobs, places are looking for people with soft skills because they're so impractical to train.

This goes down to your basic help desk tech.

Anyone with an interest in computers can sit down and learn how to analyze and exploit weakness in code. In fact, it's a fun puzzle. Dealing with other people, let alone establishing oneself as another person and fucking SELLING that character enough to get what you need?

People write off social engineering far too quickly. It's quick, it's effective, and if done well, the person you exploited doesn't even realize they've been tricked.

You're not necesarrily wrong, but modders currently have a more difficult time than with Skyrim.

As far as I'm aware, modding tools from Bethesda haven't been released yet, kinda limiting what people can do.

Not that it can't be done, its just more difficult and time consuming than using producer built tools. People were modding games before any one put out tools for that purpose. Notepad and a hex editor can get you a long way if you know what you're doing, at least back then.

I guess I should say this is from the perspective of a PC gamer, primarily. I've used consoles in the past, sure, but my last console was an Xbox 360 and before that a PS2.

The language also includes "any office."

Pretty inclusive if you ask me.

To be fair, Tesla is owned by a South African who immigrated to Canada, then the US - and had apartheid slaves do the hard part of precious stone mining.

Much like the former cheetoh in chief, completely removed from the realities others face, and never had to deal with consequences.

It isn't a solely American thing, though we may be the world champs at it.

Also how that spits in the face of theatrical performances dating at least back to Shakespeare's time, if not further.

I never studied that stuff, but I did date a drama major back in the day.

I grew up trick or treating in Texas. Never once did I get Fererro Rocher shit in my pillow sack.

I did get home made beef jerky on occasion. Spicy was always a disappointment, because my stomach can't handle much capsacin. I don't mean I don't like spicy stuff, I mean too much capsacin leads to ulceration and vomiting blood.

I was more thinking it's to test the waters.

A buck is affordable to most everyone who has the means to access Twitter.

Of course next year it'll be Twitter++ subscriptions for 20 bucks a month, as they phase out the 1 dollar tier.

I never cared for Twitter, and watching Musk's spin on it has been hilarious as someone with a long history in corporate IT.

Pre-edit: At the moment I'm refusing to refer to it by a ~~tween edgelords name~~~ Musk's name for it.
