How nice of you to suppress yourselves in order to save the administration the effort of having to do so.

  1. They don't need infiltrators. They'll just show images and videos of some other violent protest from years ago that happened somewhere else and claim it's happening now. (like they've done before. I'm sure they already have the videos selected and ready to go.)
  2. Videos of you beating the crap out of anyone talking violence will be shown without context and lied about who is being targeted to claim the protest is being violent.

It does not matter what you do, they will call you violent and treat you as such. I don't know if Lemmy has an actual community for the extreme right MAGAs, but go look at the Reddit r/conservative community on any day and see how many posts are calling the current protest violent. Reality has a Liberal bias so they do not care what it says, they will listen chronic liars that tell them what they want to believe is true.

Edit: https://www.newsweek.com/gavin-newsom-trump-fake-protest-images-2085492

On X, formerly Twitter, the Department of Defense's Rapid Response account posted a video that appeared to show burning, graffitied police cars during protests in Los Angeles this week.

However, the fact-checking website Snopes said the image showed protests in Los Angeles following the death of George Floyd in May 2020.

Once you use violence, they will use that to justify using violence and putting down the movement.

And surely the people who lie about everything wouldn't lie about violence happening anyway to justify using violence...

This administration wants this.

This administration wants people not to resist them. Failing that people resisting them verbally but in no practical manner will do just fine.

Out the airlock they go.

I didn’t steer shit, first of all.

First of all, never said or implied you did.

Let us enjoy our thing.

So you do enjoy bringing up religion in every possible conversation?
(and can I just point out the irony of you saying "let us enjoy our thing" when your thing it literally shitting on other people's thing?)

Second, do you really believe that if you just ignore things they go away?

Sir, this is a ~~Wendys~~ meme about math.

As if people are not out there bible thumping every single day?

and we come in here and try to enjoy ~~a moment of reflecting on the ridiculousness of those beliefs~~ memes away from all that bullshit and someone has to come in here and bring it up to bitch about it anyway. hence, I’m here to tell them to shut the fuck up.

i really feel like your input has been the truly rude part of this conversation.

My input has been the simple fact that people who insist on making every conversation about religion are fucking exhausting to everyone else.

I have not subbed to any religious or anti-religious communities, and yet people seem to think it needs to be a part of every discussion. You'd think out of all people atheists wouldn't be the ones doing that shit yet here we are. If you want to talk about that shit go those communities and you will find plenty of like minded people.

Do you reply to memes about video games with your thoughts on covid?

sounds like you haven't had much experience of having to sit through religious people spout bullshit at you every single day.

You mean like what's happening in this thread? Someone had a joke that had nothing to do with religion, and here we are talking about religious bullshit because someone can't let any opportunity pass without mentioning religion.

Again: if you're tired of people spouting religious bullshit at you all day I would expect you to not try to steer even more conversations towards religion.

I would just expect someone who doesn't like religion to not want to have conversations about it, instead of bringing it up at every vaguely related opportunity.

Fine. Hop in a car, and get on the nearest highway. Every time you come to a fork, roll a die to see which direction you go.

Careful, that's how you end up here:

No ID saying they are ICE, so they very well could be protestors! You have no way of knowing and feel threatened...

Moriarty was told that if you die in the next 24 hours he gets $3 billion.

Q: How can you tell if a Lemming is an atheist?

A: Don't worry, they'll tell you.

You saw a meme about science and math and your first thought was "how can I make this about religion"?

Received a text from a pollster asking me who I'm going to vote for, is there any good reason to respond?

This is a weird one.

I am subscribed to Risa@startrek.website When browsing on my phone I can see the thumbnails just fine. When browsing on my desktop ublock origin blocks the thumbnails and avatars, but only from the startrek.website instance, and only when I'm accessing it through Lemmy.ca

If I go directly to startrek.website I can view everything fine, and other instances I am not encountering this issue with. Any idea what might be the cause? I am using Firefox.

I can go to the main page of a Lemmy instance and see whatever is active on that instance at the time, but is there a way to get something like r/all for all federated instances?
