2023 erfasste das Bundeskriminalamt knapp 170.000 Fälle von Beziehungsgewalt in Deutschland. Fast 80 Prozent der Betroffenen waren Frauen, rund 20 Prozent Männer, also immerhin jede fünfte von Gewalt betroffene Person.
Die Frage hier ist aber halt auch wie hoch die Dunkelziffer ist. Die meisten Männer werden solche Fälle gar nicht erst melden. Würde mich absolut nicht wundern, wenn die Zahlen hier näher an der Hälfte liegen. Ich habe mich nach der Trennung von meiner missbräuchlichen Ex und dem darauf folgenden Terror (einschließlich Mord & Gewaltandrohungen) einfach komplett in meine Wohnung verkrochen, emotional vollständig von anderen Menschen abgeriegelt. Keine Anzeige oder "offiziellen Beratungsstellen", geschweige denn irgendwelche Schutzräume (gab es damals gar nicht erst). Zwei Jahrzehnte später und die psychischen und emotionalen Schäden sind noch immer da. Nicht zuletzt auch wegen einer weiteren Beziehung die Jahre danach kam und leider ebenfalls furchtbar endete, welche das ganze Trauma der ersten Beziehung praktisch nur weiter bestätigte. Das ganze Thema braucht noch sehr viel Arbeit, politisch als auch gesellschaftlich.
