Honestly, there’s going to be a hard peak to how fast a 3D printer can go, because physics. Unless we start running prints in a vacuum and start tuning local gravity….

All RPG player archetypes are valid when they fit with the overall play style of the group.

Whole group is meta gaming together? Positive collective experience. Whole group is hardcore RP? Awesomesauce.

One jackass is meta gaming in an RP group and pissing them off? Trade off that player ASAP.

This same issue happened during wildfire season in BC, Canada if I recall. A small polite media outrage over it, then forgotten.

Best case scenario would be an independent, international system developed within and for the emergency services community worldwide. Judging by the way firefighters travel internationally to fight forest fires worldwide, the community could be strong enough to support a solution like that, in my opinion.

Don’t worry, even fulfilling and meaningful jobs can now be made to feel trite and soul-crushing through the power of bad management!

There was a fire at one of my local (Canadian) ones, and it seemed like it was closed rebuilding for almost a year, I’m wondering how much delay was investigation and how much was remediation.

Burnt plastics is one of the more rancid things I’ve come across in my industrial career.

To be fair, Vancouver, BC is a popular spot for tourists, especially those doing outdoor activities, who I suppose may come from places with a different hiking and trail culture, and different types of signage. Maybe Google maps is more accurate where they’re from? Maybe they just didn’t realize how much landscape detail the tree cover can hide. Lots of folks who come here don’t speak a lot of English in my experience as well. It’s still on them, though.

I’m not even a hiker though, the trails are just too packed full of people for me here.

This kind of productive flow probably works amazingly- unless you have any other beings in your life, especially ones that rely on you for food, walks, and financial contribution.

Other life forms are where my flow breaks down.

Industrial maintenance here, I try and give only Starfleet Estimates when management sniffs around for their broken-ass machines back.

The time to worry about recruiting and training young tradies was about a decade ago. You can’t make a bunch of kids into 10+ year skilled journeymen in 3 or 4 years, and unless employers are forced they’re going to continue fighting over the most experienced employees and leave the apprentices to rot without an opportunity to be trained.

Industry and government should have taken this seriously when it was brought up years ago that there was a big generation drop-off in most trades, but it looks like someone tossed that mess down the later-tube and now, it’s later. They should have been mandating mandatory apprentice ratios in workplaces years ago, instead of letting apprentices be used as labour and then fail their exams due to not being taught their trade.

Then hey, I can get some of my 8 hrs done on the train and only have to sit in the office for 6 hours! Sounds like a win-win to me.

“Report says new policy mandating harassment training has contributed to a rise in awareness, complaints”

That was my first guess, new training making people realize that they don’t actually have to put up with a lot of things they previously have been due to believing (often correctly) that attempting to report harassment would just make them bigger targets.
