RIP Voe. He was gone far too soon. I'm glad scarlet was able to recover and release their last album. I think there was no competition. They were my favorite band of the 2010s
I have not been on Reddit for 2 years or more. That's how it's always worked for years before that even. As someone who had an account there from the 2000s all through the 2010s.
So you are either misremembering or simply mistaken. I don't like that model myself. Because it can be abused as much as it can stop abuse. Easily allowing someone to block anyone who has or might dissent to them. Helping them spread misinformation, giving it a false sense of acceptance or at least no vocal pushback. Since they couldn't just block people that down voted but never commented.
While that is true. It can still bury or hide valuable discussion. Not that this advocates for bidirectional blocking. But it would be nice if there were some method or mechanism to look for people doing such behaviors and weight their inputs less.
I've seen banal and innocuous comments from myself and whole chains including others get down voted for no real apparent reason. Personally I see that and I choose to smile. Knowing that that person is so seething and ineffectual that that is the best they can figure out to do. But not everyone sees it that way. It's definitely something that will have to be tackled at some point if the system is going to grow. Because whether or not you agree that it's manageable now. It certainly won't be if there is a huge growth spurt.
Piracy had never been lost sales. Just markets you choose to ignore or refuse to serve. Just because someone pirates something doesn't mean they could or would have bought it otherwise.
They've always been the cancel culture. The call has always been coming from inside the party.
As an anarchist. I'd say that doesn't go far enough. But it is absolutely a good start. I'm all for doing it. So long as we don't stop there. Because that would only really reset things to something like they were a hundred years ago. But it wouldn't stop everything that's happened since then from happening again. We gotta start with what's achievable first. That's what matters.
Definitely. No office should be more important than your local office. They are the only ones who will ever have an actual interest in representing you.
Even if you are someone like myself who wouldn't make a good actual candidate for a highly public office. Because of the stress and strains of having to mask Etc. Your time and resources can make all the difference to those local offices.
There's no better way to accomplish nothing, then waiting around for the national parties to come to your rescue.
As someone that lives in one of those two areas it certainly does. Even then as a state we voted to take dark money out of politics, raise the minimum wage, and increase sick days for people. But then the slightly over half of the population that is severely LED poison votes in Republicans. Who writes deceptive bills aimed at undoing the will of the people. Or now not even making that much effort towards it and just saying they will not implement what was voted for. Those of us that live here don't call it the state of misery for nothing.
No I think it's time to harass politicians to get jobs. Politician was never supposed to be a career path despite turning into one
All leadership being deferred to a national party is the problem. You cannot fix the DNC when it's existence is largely the problem. No National parties should really exist for more than 6 months every 4 years. Just long enough to coalesce behind the candidate the people voted for and help promote them through the general election. Then disband. Just as the House and Senate really wasn't supposed to exist for more than a few months a year. Outside planting and harvesting times. So as not too monopolize people's livelihoods.
Bad presidential candidates, oligarch control, and many of our other National political issues are symptoms of this. When so much power is left idling in the hands of so few highly unaccountable individuals. They won't resist using it for themselves. As is evident.
Just gonna put this out there, st Louis and much of the surrounding areas have large black communities. And between St Louis and Kansas city accounted for most of the votes for Biden and Democrats in the state. They didn't vote for this even if the empty land in the rest of the state did.
Wait wait wait wait. David Sandberg can't be funded to finish his Opus but Michael Bay gets skibidi toilet fucking money?
