Just watched Perry's video. Best of luck to him. Honestly I'd love to see the brand revived. The X 16 the first new product. Revivals of the old. Maybe some new products based on riscv.

It's in the readme. Several comments above this and around this all mention it. You can search for it and you will find it.

Dei really shouldn't be considered politics of course. It should just be a part of being a decent person. But those who persecute others or don't care about the persecution of others at least. Always have to put on a show to make everything about them. How acknowledging traditionally excluded people is somehow an attack or imposition on them

I've disabled it before. But it was enabled again. Aggravating that it's opt out in the first place. Especially so whatever re - enabled it. Oh well.

Being left or right doesn't make you good or bad. There are plenty of reasonable right-wing groups. However few to none of them identify as right wing. The Democrats in the United States for instance. A staunchly, solidly right-wing group. That most people somehow mistakenly think are left wing.

No, the people desperate to identify themselves with vagaries such as left or right. Almost without exception are some of the worst most horrible people you'll ever meet. Only trying to deny the failures of their ideas, or deflect from the horrible things they want to do to others. Leninists and fascists are both Prime examples of this.

Anyone who talks or acts like DEI is a problem is a clown who deserves to be ridiculed. Its possible to have substantive nuanced criticism of DEI. Left or right. But DEI isn't the problem. The people whining about it typically are.

100%. Not just controversial but childish. It's completely poetic karma that they've become a minority in their own network. Repeating the same patterns that got them exiled elsewhere. Basically doing it all again. Having learned nothing.

Yep, literally 🌍👨‍🚀🔫👨‍🚀

They wouldn't get harassed if they minded their own business and stopped harassing others.

LOL, you quite literally have no clue. Don't get me wrong I understand. There's a lot of blind criticism without nuance that gets passed around on lemmy.

Despite being an anarchist, and not having anyone to endorse in the National election. I got endless hate for pointing out that Gaza wasn't on the ballot. That it was either going to be a Democrat or a Republican and we would pray that it wasn't a republican. That we should do whatever it takes to ensure the Republicans didn't win. I e voting for the next most likely to win candidate aka the Democrats. That the constant sniping at Biden / Harris over Gaza was only helping the Republican.

I voted for Harris. Because despite disagreeing with the Democrats vehemently on many fronts. Staving off open fascism and all the people now being hurt by it was important. I'm a pragmatist before an idealogue. My criticism of Democrats isn't coming from irreconcilable ideological grounds. Despite disagreeing with them I have no issue working with them when interests align. But let's be real. As a party they've made decades worth of unforced errors. And they still are. They need to be better. They need to push back. Even just making gestures for show. Which they really aren't. Mid terms are coming. They need to show people why to vote for them.

There's lots to explore there. The station outside of space and time. Between universes. Having the doctor bump into unknown incarnations of himself knowing or unknowing. Hell, have himb end up being the catalyst for what sent his past self on the path out of time lord society. Heck, a modern reintroduction and exploration of the time Lords themselves. At least for narrative purposes. Bigger meatier things to really sink into story-wise.

The doctor's not supposed to cross his own timeline. How can you really do that if you don't know it. Have him land someplace and get tossed into a crisis as is Doctor Who tradition. Over the course of four episodes have an arc where he meets and is forced to Ally with someone equally is brilliant as himself. But much more morally Gray and willing to use violence. They Clash But ultimately cooperate to save the day. As they are both preparing to part ways. The doctor opens coms and says by the way I didn't happen to get your name. To which the other replies the doctor. Followed by silent Tardis scraping noises. Dun dun dun, theme song swells. And there's so many different ways to take it from there.

By what nonexistent levers of power do you expect them to hold the total-majority government to account?

None, just at least give the posture and appearance of trying. It's a low bar they're failing. You know, not voting for grossly disqualified candidates in the name of bipartisanship. As Booker has.

No one is asking them to be community organizers. Just not to be enablers of fascists. Showing strong signs that they stand against them and with the people.

Honestly. New who has more often than not, blown through whole scenarios in the name of being episodic. Rather than letting them breathe and be serialized more like classic who. The old serials would regularly see scenarios spread across 4 episodes on average.

It's been one of my bigger gripes about new who. Outside of a few isolated split episodes. Everything has to be wrapped up by the end of a single episode. Sometimes that's possible. But its also led to a lot of poor writing. Mad dashes into an abrupt ending. With very little investment, explanation or payoff. Just....... okay, whatever.

Then, there are the big gaping new holes in the lore left especially from the chibnail era. The doctor is the timeless child? Either we should ret con it or explore it. What does it mean. Then there are all these past lives erased from the doctor's mind. Working as an operative. Seems like there could be a lot of intriguing story lines and character development there. But apart from bringing back Jo quickly in the barber shop episode. They haven't so much as acknowledged it. Or the doctor expressed an interest in it.

There's a lot of interesting stuff to work with. Plenty to build large well written arcs. With endings more satisfying than X just happens wrapping things up with no explanation. Not sure which group to lay the blame at proper for not doing that. Honestly I'm sure its no single thing.

You watched that John Oliver segment too?

One of my favorite horror Punk / psychability Max out of Montreal has just released a new single. Just thought I'd share😀

If you like the stompy synthetic minimalism of electronic body music. This is some good shit.

This is officially the band's debut album I think. They put out a number of eps over recent years. But this is the first full album. Very dark and mellow. One of the first tracks to really grab me from the album was shadows.

I can't recommend this group enough. Kill like I do off their Violet Age album constantly gets stuck in my head.

Please enjoy some gothy post punk from the UK.

Holy shit apparently she has arisen. The last release being a sophomore album just short of 20 years ago! The diva has put out a new track, and it sounds good! I always loved the other works. Such a strong and unique female vocalist. The broken ones being a favorite track. I think somewhere between heavy metal switchblade Symphony with a Banshee on lead vocals.
