IMO, HRT is all about how you want to age. Whether or not you take the HRT, you're going to be a different person in 5 years. Which hormone do you want to be the dominant hormone in that time? Do you want to age in a more "feminine" or "masculine" way? No matter what, time moves forward and you will be older. Are you able to imagine yourself in 10 years? I found it much easier to do so when I started imagining myself as trans.

but I don't really know if I should start because of my depression makes me unable to feel excitement or happiness at the prospect of HRT

One thing I kinda regret is that I started HRT hoping it would entirely take care of my depression that I had for most of my life. It helped, but the fact it didn't "cure" me in 6 months created a mini crisis. In hindsight, I should have started therapy and antidepressants at the same time as the HRT ( which is what the informed consent clinic recommended, but emilie-shrug

From the paper's caption for that figure:

Regional trends of extreme temperatures are underestimated in climate model experiments in multiple regions globally. (A) Comparison of observed trends in tail-widening (yearly 99th percentile minus 87.5th percentile) with 49 simulations from coupled and SST-forced climate models (SI Appendix, Table S1). Observed trends are outside of the modeled range in several regions globally (dark red). Areas where the annual 87.5th percentile of Tx shows a negative trend in observations are shown in gray ~~ So I think that means tail-widening ~= more heat waves. Colored areas are where heat waves are increasing, and climate models have underestimated the observed heat waves. Gray = areas that heat waves have become less frequent~~ nevermind, I'm still confused lol

The caption from the columbia article seems wrong:

Regions where observed heat waves exceed trends from climate models. Boxed areas with the darkest red colors are the most extreme; lesser reds and oranges exceed models, but not by as much. Yellows roughly match models, while greens and blues are below what models would project.

Pretty sure that's wrong because the scale on the paper's graphic shows a scale going from blue (0%) to dark red (100%). That means the map is much worse than what article says. Yellow is not where it "roughly match models", it's actually where the models underestimate by 50-75%

Light speed is light speed, and c is c. They coincide in a vacuum. Light always travels at light speed.

It's a little more complicated than that. Like, yes light is always traveling at c. But as it moves through a medium, it interacts with that medium. It gets refracted, absorbed, re-emitted, diffracted, etc: All things that add time to the photons' travels, lowering its observed velocity.

yep. Browsing F-droid is a good way to find random apps, too. Like Audio Spectrum Analyzer is fun to play with.

The towns Mayor, the Honorable George Garner was elected in 2022. Mayor Garner inherited several deficiencies with the water and wastewater departments operation and maintenance. The town is currently under contract with a certified operator for compliance requirements and the towns field crew of two is responsible for the maintenance. Upon the mayors inception the town was only using one field crew member for all the field duties throughout the town. It was evident the town needed a larger workforce when the compliance violations started coming to the surface. The mayor was also dealing with an inherited debt from a previous engineering and construction firm that is crippling the towns ability to move forward. This past relationship with that firm involved construction projects that were mismanaged and in particularly one incident which caused a sanitary sewer overflow. This incident ended in enforcement action and a fine to the town.

One of the most important things the mayor has been pushing for is to get the town’s financial audits up to date. The municipal audits had not been completed for several years and the town is not eligible for water and sewer funding assistance because of delinquent audits. The office staff an the mayor understand how important this is and have been encouraging the auditors to complete this as soon as possible. The town anticipates their audits should be up to date by the end of 2023.

I wonder how that went

oh. Didn't file the audit for 2023 either

"Direct Sowing" should be called "Cisplanting". These cisplants are assigned field/garden/pot at germination, and that's where they stay. (Eg wheat is cis Aremoved) Edit: lmao that word filter. I wasn't trying to hate crime wheat, it's just Assigned Field At Germination

Others are assigned seed tray at germination, and those get transplanted (eg tomatoes are usually trans ASTAG)
