This is the best measure (preventative). Carb heavy lunches will wreck you. Save the carbs for after work, fall asleep on the couch watching TV, then wake up with a sore back.

In my experience, everything else on thinkpads can and will be abused by my users but the trackpoint is one thing I've never had to replace. Most of my new hires don't even know what it does.

I'm not confused why they're doing it, I'm confused why they think b&m stores are the way to go. I'm sure they can subsidize any potential losses from other money making areas but why not just sell the merch online? Storefront overhead ain't cheap.

Who you have actively selected and control will determine what stats are used during conversations/cutscenes, IE if you need to do a charisma or intimidation or insight check it uses that character's stats. However certain cutscenes will use your main character (the one you selected when you started the game) no matter what.

Also passive checks throughout the world will use all characters but they need to be near the spot to use them so sometimes if your character you're controlling walks past a hidden cache somewhere and fails a perception check you can move your other characters into that spot and they'll all try. You can even go to camp and grab someone else for more chances if you really have some blind characters in your party.

When you frame it a certain way of course it sounds awful. Let me try the opposite.

Lae'zel has been indoctrinated since birth by a crazy religious and xenophobic culture. The second she's told she's being lied to she doesn't believe anyone because people don't change their mind about their entire belief system through one line of dialogue from a person she just met.

However after a few more hard facts being shown to her, such as said religious culture trying to kill her and being lied to by the head of said fanatics, she realizes all of her people are actually indoctrinated slaves and starts to fight for the future of her people by rallying around the one person who can actually do something to stop it all.

Not sure why her breaking away from the brainwashing and indoctrination and trying to help free her people after seeing the truth is a bad thing here? Also fun fact, if Orpheus turns into a mind flayer and dies at the end she goes to free her people anyway, it wasn't just about him. She didn't just become a zealot following a new person, she became dedicated to freeing her people. Orpheus has that capability so she wants to free him.

Take a look at the Hong Kong protests. Twitter was a huge way to show the world what was going on. But also full of shills and bots sewing discord

Honestly at this point I can't tell if I'm happy or sad about things like Twitter going away. It was full of horrible discourse and bots and misinformation, but also helped a lot of people. Back in the day it was insanely helpful for directing large areas affected by disasters.

I just don't see the good uses of these platforms ever coming back from all these primadonna CEOs

Bots and shills accounts are a huge problem in any public discourse about any topic, but they really come out in full force when "hot button" topics come up. IE: I watch Doctor Who, also a highly political and progressive show with "fans" suddenly and inexplicably divided the second there was a whiff of casting news regarding a new Doctor.

Years ago, before Jodie Whittaker got the role officially, there were reports that Phoebe Waller-Bridge might be in talks to play the Doctor and the Doctor Who subreddit exploded with "as a woman I don't think the Doctor should be played by a woman" posts. After Jodie was announced the posts exploded again. Then later, there were talks a black actor could be playing the Doctor and once again inexplicably tons of 'as a black man I don't care about representation... " posts went flying.

Even little subs like PrintSF for sf/fantasy etc. books got the occasional comments when it was time for Hugos. Any mention of female or diverse authors being nominated got random accounts never accessing the sub before saying shit like "anyone else notice all the books are by LGBTQ authors? I'm just asking questions" never to be seen again after Hugos were over. There's still a remnant of Sad Puppy/Puppygate bad faith posters and shills sewing discord years later after the whole drama subsided.

It just seems like anytime potential division can be created there's an influx in new/ random accounts pushing it where it makes no sense, like with Star Trek or Doctor Who specifically being great examples. I hope fediverse places make this kinda blatant discord harder to create.

I have to imagine a lot of this "I'm done with woke star trek" crap is perpetuated by bots and shills. Post histories on Reddit for accounts saying these right wing talking points were either days old in response to some new Trek show or episode, or years old accounts that haven't posted in forever then suddenly posted a bunch of talking points in every thread they could find.

There were definitely legit accounts of people upset by new Trek for other reasons but far outnumbered by "anti wokester" puppet accounts. When it came to Twitter I wouldn't bat a lash if one out of every hundred accounts were bots. After noticing their trends they get easier to spot. It's the only thing that makes sense when the alternative is there are legions of trek fans that never noticed how progressive the shows were and suddenly decided to be angry in the past couple years.

For sure. My small city sub was hilarious. Always people asking "anyone know why there's a helicopter flying over our city?!"
