Hope not, instances should block Threads instead.
Meta/Facebook could use that to harvest more data, and Meta isn't known for privacy.

And Thread trolls spamming the fediverse also not a good ideia.

"I have nothing to hide"
People just want to use the app, like on TikTok "China is spying you, it will be blocked" many started to looking for VPNs to unblock the app.

Are they?
Teddit uses his own "Unofficial API" for scrapping.
I've posted here a list of Reddit apps that will continue to work https://lemmy.ml/comment/1054018

There was any research made for this video?
Cleary there wasn't.

  • There are more apps for Reddit than Apollo
  • The protest didn't stop after 48h, is still going
  • Admins forces subreddits to re-open
  • Subreddits mods where replaced
  • Subsreddits change tactics to protest
  • There's a bunch of more apps for Android than there are for iOS
  • Didn't mention what subreddit was u/spez moderator in 2008

Unless you're Trump and try to build a social network based on opensource software, and say that you made it.

Lemmy say that uses AGPL, so any changes to the code must be publicly available.

Just one thing, must be indefinitely not 48h, otherwise nothing will change. A year have 365 days, 48h it's a weekend, if subreddits come back after 48h it's nothing happened.

I know, im from Europe.
The drama is not compared to USA, we don't vote on celebrities.

In my country we even have a party for the animals and climate, so when USA still trying to vote for basic rights, we already ahead and vote for animal rights and more climate change.

Maybe because he's not "American" and comes from a country with regulations like the rest of the world, and people care when they vote to make things work.

And like most of the rest of the world, there are more than two political parties, and is not a drama show.
