"I'm Your Fan" was a Leonard Cohen tribute album I really enjoyed, mainly for R.E.M. covering "First We Take Manhattan"! :)

There's also A Giant Dog's cover of the whole of Arcade Fire's album "Neon Bible", which gives it a punkish edge - I loved it! :)

Nice!!! Congratulations on the album! :) I've bookmarked for music time later! :)

I loved wasteland 3, and didn't get going with 2 the same :) I felt 3 definitely called back to early choices I made, without giving anything away :)

Weirdly, I got really into the combat, which never happens to me. :)

That's really interesting, I didn't realise the viewer's instance had an impact on how Lemmy handles things! :) I can imagine it could cause a few headaches trying to patch an app for one without breaking another.

Thinking about it - I joined Lemmy.ml for the programming, but did mean to try using more instances, this could be a fun experiment. :)

Hopefully it's not too bad for the nice developer who makes Boost :)

Thank you again for taking the time to look into all this and explain it! :)

That's really kind, thank you. :)

https://lemmy.world/post/4637372 - for me this works (Thanks to Max_p for noting about instances)

https://lemmy.world/post/27772240 - huh... for me share doesn't work as it tries to share an image proxy instead... didn't expect that :)

Thank you for this! I did some browsing, and on the back of your note, found the image proxy seems to be instance specific! :)

I didn't know this was a thing that affected it, so that's definitely useful to know. :)

Thank you! :) that's really good to know - the crashes stopped with clearing the cache, but I didn't know if the image proxy was normal/widespread.

Those cheeky gits! My comments are un-shredded :/ I replaced all of them with a generic "deleted" a few years ago...

Hi Boost folks,

I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing crashes when saving images?

I keep going to share funny pictures, and when I share, Boost/Lemmy tries to send an "image proxy", so I hit download (my usual workaround), but as of today Boost crashes. This seems to be the case for any image post.

Is this a thing for anyone else? :)

Edit: no more crashes after clearing Boost's cache, but still curious about sharing images not working 100% :)

Edit 2: clearing cache is needed very regularly to make downloading images work

Heehee yep, me too! :) In case it helps, the "About" message says I'm on version 1.0.15 (19)

Hmm...this has me thinking, maybe I'll change up my Hugo site a little, so that there's no dropdown menu - it's the only thing javascript is needed for.

Thank you for this, some points that I'd not even considered, and a helpful reminder to myself to try and get that javascript from 99% to 100% unused. :)

Ah thank you! Not OP, but I've not known for the longest time and been too scared to ask :)

I just saw this community, and wanted to cheer myself up with showing something I made one weekend a year or so ago. :)

It was meant to be a virtual goldfish bowl/screensaver gimmick to keep me company, but then I added interaction and it made me happy to feel like I was helping them? :)

Hope this is okay to share as I made this and the site it's embedded on (I didn't make itch.io that would be lots of work lol)

I could spreadsheet or make something but would like to ask, from searching there doesn't seem to be a program that'll let me list things to try and achieve, note them as done, maybe assign a score to each goal?

After losing a notebook, I thought I'd ask about a new-fangled approach. :) Thank you for reading this and happy new year! :)

I have heard some wacky migraine treatment techniques, and thought if anyone is on here, it could be a potentially interesting light-hearted thing to discuss.

Reddit swore by McDonald's fries (salt intake?), but what prompted me to think to post this was my new DIY "heat treatment" for retinal migraines.

I like warm or cold things on the pain, and cooling strips etc are sold as migaine treatments. So one day I figured blasting my eye pain with a hair-dryer was worth a punt because why not?

Instantly pain free! I swear by it, it is temporary relief like I have never had before! The internet says heat possibly tricks pain receptors, I say dumb method works! I thought this was funny enough to share.

With this tale out the way, what are Lemmy's wacky migraine superstitions or unorthodox migraine strategies?

Edit: blasting one's face with a hair dryer is not medical advice! I am just a moron on the internet, and this is purely anecdotal

Hi everyone :) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in chatting about things similar to Blade Runner/Philip K Dick? I've read pretty much all of his books that I get my hands on, but am sadly hitting the point where it's an event when I find one I've not already read. :)

Do any other Science Fiction writers or films scratch the same itch? :)

To throw one of his own into the discussion: We Can Build You is fantastic - much slower, but explores androids, and their impact on the human characters. :)
