Trying games on the demo machines, finding the Cure's discography at £3 a CD, marking big events with a new CD... ahhh such nice happy times before panic and no money :) damn life was easy :)

Plus with the energy usage of OpenAI etc, the LLMs can just say "tomorrow will be warmer" and only get more accurate every time! :)

(I hope my joke about climate doom and gloom carried across the internet okay! ♥️)

I use the Bura app, which uses open-meteo.com as a source :)

It seems as accurate as others and is open-source, so from my quick look, no nagging or creepy tracking. :)

My gut choices without thinking about it are Mr Bounce and Little Miss Shy! :) loved these books! :)

Hi :) not sure if it's useful, but here's a post and some discussions about it in the comments :) it seems to go away if storage is cleared, but not always, and it comes back again :)

Ditto! :) It's something as a male I don't need to go wading in to comment or whatnot but I love that it exists; it always looks like a great place from the posts I see on my travels. :)

Hoping the move goes smoothly :)

Utterly smitten with this album! It's been on loop in headphones, CD in the car... I'm playing it to death but can't help it! :)

Fallout 1! And also Pillars of Eternity 1! :) I have definitely got the Obsidian/Black Isle bug, and it never left - I hope they do another CRPG one day, as they're special games for me. :)

Hi Boost folks,

I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing crashes when saving images?

I keep going to share funny pictures, and when I share, Boost/Lemmy tries to send an "image proxy", so I hit download (my usual workaround), but as of today Boost crashes. This seems to be the case for any image post.

Is this a thing for anyone else? :)

Edit: no more crashes after clearing Boost's cache, but still curious about sharing images not working 100% :)

Edit 2: clearing cache is needed very regularly to make downloading images work

I just saw this community, and wanted to cheer myself up with showing something I made one weekend a year or so ago. :)

It was meant to be a virtual goldfish bowl/screensaver gimmick to keep me company, but then I added interaction and it made me happy to feel like I was helping them? :)

Hope this is okay to share as I made this and the site it's embedded on (I didn't make itch.io that would be lots of work lol)

I could spreadsheet or make something but would like to ask, from searching there doesn't seem to be a program that'll let me list things to try and achieve, note them as done, maybe assign a score to each goal?

After losing a notebook, I thought I'd ask about a new-fangled approach. :) Thank you for reading this and happy new year! :)

I have heard some wacky migraine treatment techniques, and thought if anyone is on here, it could be a potentially interesting light-hearted thing to discuss.

Reddit swore by McDonald's fries (salt intake?), but what prompted me to think to post this was my new DIY "heat treatment" for retinal migraines.

I like warm or cold things on the pain, and cooling strips etc are sold as migaine treatments. So one day I figured blasting my eye pain with a hair-dryer was worth a punt because why not?

Instantly pain free! I swear by it, it is temporary relief like I have never had before! The internet says heat possibly tricks pain receptors, I say dumb method works! I thought this was funny enough to share.

With this tale out the way, what are Lemmy's wacky migraine superstitions or unorthodox migraine strategies?

Edit: blasting one's face with a hair dryer is not medical advice! I am just a moron on the internet, and this is purely anecdotal

Hi everyone :) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in chatting about things similar to Blade Runner/Philip K Dick? I've read pretty much all of his books that I get my hands on, but am sadly hitting the point where it's an event when I find one I've not already read. :)

Do any other Science Fiction writers or films scratch the same itch? :)

To throw one of his own into the discussion: We Can Build You is fantastic - much slower, but explores androids, and their impact on the human characters. :)
