I fear someday someone else will have to understand my infinite unsorted pirated book collection. I swear to God I will finish them all

yeah, I've realised being on my phone a lot is probably a big part of a lot of problems in my life, but because old folks criticized it in such a silly way, it's hard to genuinely talk about it.

But yeah students are asking shit like "why make art" and this is actually scary as hell.

considering how well he treated his employees, directly talking to them to learn about their problems, it would be no different having a union or not. yeah he's a comrade.

I guess not, I usually drink my liquor straight.

100%. I don't think that was an intended consequence but it definitely is happening. People already chose not to think, no they can externalize it to a source that will by default agree with the status quo.

I can't quite put in into words, but people think because they can read a book they understand it and all the writing on it is obfuscation, while they can't read a paper on anything scientific because they lack the vocabulary. What they don't understand is that they grasp books they same way they do cars, and really don't know what's happening under the hood in either case. swap book for painting or whatever the relevant word is for other humanities and my point still stands. I will also write an effort post about how it's funny teaching humanities went from respected to stupid after more women and people of color got into the field.

Hey folks, long time poster/commenter. I haven't been a good leftist in a while. I had some pretty severe mental health problems I needed to focus on, and getting my career on track. I've forgotten a lot of theory, and fuck if it doesn't look bleak as hell out there. I can't see any way out except third world maoism, and that's a longshot. But past that life just felt more fun when I wasn't constantly thinking about politics. I think some of that was because my leftism was mostly online. I did what i could in person but had limited options. But to be honest what can I do other than mutual aid? Americans are too stupid to ever see past capitalism, there's no local governance I can affect, and anything else is just adventurism. Please pull me back, I know too much to even pretend to be liberal or conservative.
