After doing it in TinkerCad, it does look like the slicer could probably have done it too. Thanks!

That is s fun little tool. Worked great, thanks!

I'm trying to do something that feels like it should be simple, but I'm struggling to find a way. I have an stl file that has spots for two items and I wanted to reconfigure it to only have one spot. I just want to cut and merge but this seems impossible. Any suggestion on tool and how to do this?

I've read these books and swear I remember seeing this originally, but while playing neither I nor my players could find this information in the books nor online. The game is fun but the layout of the information is terrible.

I think their point is that there are options to not eat the dog either.

Worked for me, too! Though, my (now) wife had paid for the subscription so she had bonus features.

Man, I wish I liked tofu, since it would make ordering out so much easier. There's just something about the texture I just can't get past.

It has three entries in gparted. "/dev/sda1" is "grub core.img" and is 1.00 MiB. "/dev/sda2" is fat32 and is 513 MiB and "/dev/sda3" is ext4 and is 237.97 GiB.

I ended up reinstalling without Win 10 and it still isn't finding it. I'll have to check on a toggle later

[–] ImminentOrbit@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

How would I check on that?

Hmm, after reinstalling, it still doesn't boot, even without Win 10

I decided to go with Linux mint for my laptop. After installing it alongside windows 10, it won't boot into either. If I reboot from my USB stick, it says that maybe it's too far away from the start of the drive to be detected. But I believe there is some intel /hp stuff that includes some kind of boot that might also be interfering. Does anyone have a good way forward from here?

I have an old laptop that I use as a Minecraft server as well as running RPG campaigns during game night. I'm getting tired of Windows 10 and I'm looking for a good replacement. I don't have a lot of experience with Linux lately, the last time I did anything with it was maybe 10 years or so ago and I used Ubuntu, which I've read here is maybe not a good choice any longer. Stats of laptop are below. Recommendations are appreciated, thanks.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.70 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) Graphics Card NVIDIA Quadro K2100M (2 GB), Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 (113 MB)

There is an "actually infuriating" community. Go use that for political and other terrible things happening in the world. That is not the purpose of the community. All of that is important but not the point of this community. Go post where it belongs and let me have a break from it here.

I think I'm up for actually being a mod here if help is desired. I've not done it before but am willing to help if needed.

Growing up, my dad would point at any boat he saw and said "Yadja boat!" As we grew older, it finally occurred to us to ask what that meant, and he said that "Yadja" meant "there goes", so we all had a good laugh that he was just saying "there goes the boat" for years.

Time passes and the Internet becomes commonplace. I cannot get a translation of "there goes" that looks anything like "Yadja" even accounting for not really speaking the language. Asking Dad, he doesn't know how it is spelled and, being born and raised in America, doesn't really speak/read Polish.

So, my questions: is there a word in Polish that sounds kinda like "yadja"? Does it mean "there goes"? Is it some sort of slang or is it completely made up by dear old dad?

Edit: thanks, all, jedzie it is! It might not be the word that he should have used, but at least we have the answer to what he was trying to say, lol.

Actually infuriating things are so far outside of the purpose of this community. When I want to read about the terrible things happening in the world, I go read about them. When I'm trying to take a break and refresh my mind, it is aggravating that I'm still forced to view these issues in my fun communities.

If we aren't going to outright forbid it, could we maybe at least enforce a tag, something like [RI] for really infuriating stuff so that it could be more easily filtered out?

I can't find the option, if there is one, to report posts that are breaking a communities rules for example.

I remember MoonMoon playing this a while back. You start in the darkness with a random weapon. Only the area around you is lit. You eventually encounter AI controlled opponents who also have random weapons. You can chop off each other's limbs.

I've used Freemind for a long time, but I'm wondering if there is a recommendation for a more modern version of this? Trying to install on my new PC, it claims me version of Java is old.

For almost the entire time I've been using Thunder, my default view has been by subscriptions. I'm not sure if something changed and this got deleted, or for new feature was added and didn't taken to account the subscriptions, but I'd like to set it back to that being my default view.

I currently have a win 11 machine and would like to dual boot with Linux. Looking at some of the different options, it seems many aren't recommended for dual booting. Are there any that are?
