Hello. I am considering getting either a Sailor Professional Gear Slim Fountain Pen Iris Nebula Special Edition or one of the new Diplomat Vipers in Blue. Has anyone had experience with Sailor and Diplomat pens? The Sailor has a 14kt gold nib and the Diplomat has a steel nib. I haven't had any experience writing with a gold nib and have only been using steel nibs. This will be my first "Luxury" buy after having used Lamy Safaris and TWSBI Diamond Minis exclusively. Any feedback/comments is appreciated.

Thank you.

I mostly use my Traveler's Company brass fountain pen fitted with a Schmidt EF nib because It's always with me attached to my Traveler's Notebook. My backup 2nd most used was YStudio's Brassing Portable which I ended up losing while traveling in Italy's Adriatic coast. I typically cary 2 pens with different colours. In the Traveler's Company pen I use Diamine's Writer's blood and in the YStudio, I was using Diamine's Hell's Bells. Having 2 pens with two inks enables me to have more flexibility in contextual jotting.

Thank you. It's a brass pen from The Traveler's Company using Diamine Writer's Blood Ink. The pen comes with a steel F nib manufactured by Shmidt, but I swapped it out with a Schmidt #5 EF nib.

The Kaweco squeeze converters fit, if you can find them. I use the Kaweco sport converter which I don't fill all the way to allow the pen to close.

I retired from the profession, and watching this series was like reliving the life.

I’m glad I left the US to have my son born in the Czech Republic (his mother is Czech). Education is better. Health care is better. My employer at the time provided paid paternal leave!

Yes, We have Peters world maps in our house. My wife insisted. I'm so blessed to have found someone as nerdy as me.

OEM dock has both DP + HDMI. I am able to drive two external two external 1440p displays. Compiling directly on the deck can take longer than on beefier HW, but you probably already know that.

I bought got the Steam Deck for the handheld PC gaming experience. I did my research before pre-ordering and was aware that playing docked on a tv or 4K monitor would have its limitations. The key is to perform the necessary due diligence to understand the hardware and its limitations to set the correct expectations before buying. To be honest, my use case for docking the Steam Desk is for primarily its desktop mode. The most demanding AAA title I play regularly is Cyberpunk 2077, and I am thrilled that I can play it with good fidelity on the go.
