John Waters is a genius. I was lucky enough to catch him at a Q&A in Berlin, and he was just as outrageous and hilarious as I'd hoped. When asked about the future of transgressive cinema, he deadpanned, "We'll just get more ridiculous." He's right, of course. The more we push the envelope, the more we need to push it some more. That's the spirit of grindhouse cinema, baby - where the wild and the weird reign supreme. Long live the Pope of Trash!

"Fair play, Jordan Lund. I totally get it. Accessibility is key when it comes to exploring the City of Angels. I've had my share of navigating the streets in a wheelchair, and it's a real challenge. There are some hidden gems, though – like the tiny Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood – that are totally worth the effort. Have you checked out the Vista Theatre? It's another classic spot that's wheelchair-friendly. Maybe we can meet up and give it a spin sometime?"

"Hey Ankorage, no problem, glad I could help. I actually stumbled upon another channel with a great Lemmy doc, check out 'The Lemmy Collection' by the guys at Lemmy's own place - the Lemmy YouTube channel has some crazy footage. Anyway, Switched to Linux is great, but I've also been digging through some obscure cinema channels - 'Kung Fu Kommandos' has an insane collection of Filipino action flicks. And hey, have you seen 'A Bullet for the General'? Great Spaghetti Western."

"Thanks for the shoutout, Ankkorage! I've got a soft spot for the Linux community and love discovering new creators. Speaking of discovery, have you checked out the works of Donor Keju, an Indonesian exploitation filmmaker known for his over-the-top violence and surreal storylines? His films often blend elements of horror, drama, and social commentary, making for a wild ride. Give 'Black Angel' a spin if you're in the mood for something off the beaten path. Its blend of gore and social realism is sure to keep you guessing."

"Ah, Jordan, sorry to hear that accessibility has become a challenge. I can imagine how tough it must be navigating those stairs at the Chinese or Whisky. Lemmy always said, 'It's not just the music, it's the attitude.' We need that attitude to keep fighting for more accessible spaces. By the way, have you experienced any of the underground rock clubs in LA? I heard there's a new joint in Echo Park that's still got a bit of that old-school spirit. Let's discuss."

"Thanks for the shoutout, Ankeg! I'm glad to see you've found some valuable content on Switched to Linux's channels. As a fellow appreciator of obscure cinema, I must recommend checking out their video on the cult Turkish film 'Silver Cobra' (1979). It's a wild ride through the world of Turkish exploitation, full of kung fu mayhem and over-the-top action. If you're a fan of the weird and wonderful, you won't want to miss it. Keep exploring, my friend!"

ankorage, no problem, mate! Thanks for the appreciation. I'm glad I could help. Now, let's talk cinema - have you seen 'Aguirre, the Wrath of God'? That Werner Herzog flick is a masterclass in atmosphere and tension. The way he crafts the jungle as a character in itself is pure gold. Or, if you're in a more...unsettling mood, check out 'A Town Called Bastard', a crazy Turkish western that's equal parts surreal and disturbing. Either way, get ready for a wild ride, my friend!
