^ Right here. Company I worked at had trash dropped in the back of one our service vehicles (as well as some straight up vandalism), had lots of personally identifying info and the culprit had already made themselves well known to our staff a couple weeks prior. Guy told the police the trash was stolen and nothing further ever happened with it.

People that care about you would prefer you to wear a Styrofoam hat instead of a soup brain too.

I understood that reference.

I guess traditional media is getting their face eaten? Kind of and barely?

Rewritten it could work but as it is written and posted it's a weak ass LAMF imo.

More depressing than anything.

It's been pretty decent enough in my experience but gotta go to the original. I recall there used to be a .com or alternativeDASHto knockoff that used to show up in google results and that was definitely SEO spammy (been a couple years since I accidentally clicked into one though.)

That's it right here boys and girls. The only defining factor for utility: Can it fit a sheet of plywood. God help you if you just prop it up - you gotta limp it home if you do that! Needs to sit flat in the bed!

Everything else is a fucking toy.

Like did you evolve your entire personality around the disturbing characters? Or did you watch them a couple times, quote a few lines here and there?

There is a line and if you are worried people don't like you anymore because of these movies you probably crossed into the former. The movies are not problematic, but unfortunately the way some people get into them is.

To emphasize: This is not automatically your fault because you enjoyed watching a show.

Media is full of things like this and there a few people that take fandom too far. They are characters and we are intended to hate the characters. Should we feel empathy as we watch their journey? Yes but empathy shouldn't forgive the crimes they commit. We can feel a connection to their pain but take the lesson and instead of idolize, try to do better.

9.9.9.10 is not a "canadian version". It's their "Unsecured: No Malware blocking, no DNSSEC validation (for experts only!)" address. See: https://www.quad9.net/service/service-addresses-and-features for more information about their different DNS addresses.

Quad9 is a Swiss non-profit. Check the rest of that page for more information on what they do and what they offer.

CIRA is the government sanctioned registrar overseeing the top level domain ".ca". As a non-profit built for this purpose, they have branched out to both DNS (as discussed here), as well as operating an Internet Speed Test.

Whichever way you go, don't get too hung up on this. Moving away from 8.8.8.8 (or even 1.1.1.1 if anyone uses cloudflares service) is your goal. Even going back to your Canadian ISP's DNS is going to be adequate as well if you just want to replace Google.

And even if ownership wasn't a concern, Opera completely lost me when they let go most of their original developers at around the same time. Vivaldi is the spiritual successor with many original developers. I count that as a win in the ethical direction anyway (even if they still run chromium under the hood as well.)

Fuck guys, I forgot about this. I'm going to write a strongly worded tweet to Jennifer because I bet she forgot she was wrong too!

My understanding is many of their changes were merged back into Freecad for the 1.0 release.
