As an ex apple support, this scheme is an absolute bullshit. You cannot imagine how many times it doesn't even work, and when you contact your seniors because of it, nobody knows why and we had to tell customers to just try in a few days (for the X number of times already). I was never a huge fan of apple, but after working for them, I just physically won't ever be able to buy their products.

I mean, the thing by itself is kinda cool. But the moment they start to "tune" themselves, things quickly go south.

It's almost scary how true it is. We were planning to buy an apartment here with my wife in the future, but now thinking about just moving to a different country for a decent living. Sounds extreme (the hardest part is leaving all the friends and family behind), but we really want to live like normal human beings. Thanks to remote job for the opportunity.
