It sounds like a decent feature if used to protect things like banking sites from potentially invasive extensions. I disable my adblocker (only extension I use) for all those types of sites.

Not sure either. There is a lot of unhinged lefties on Lemmy; I haven't seen much commentary from the far right at all. It would be nice to find some level headed discussion that isn't strictly red vs. blue.

Sounds like your university is using a Palo Alto Next Gen Firewall which is intercepting DNS requests and responding with the sinkhole FQDN for anything they deem malicious or suspicious. You can try to override this with DNS over HTTPS but they may also be blocking that. Standard security stuff. You can also probably try to open an IT ticket and request that they whitelist the domain.
