For those who struggle with math, that means that Biden is less than 4 years older than trump. The people criticizing Biden's age and not trump's as well never actually gave a shit about Biden's age. Look forward to those same people making up bullshit reasons that Harris is less capable than trump. They know they're full of shit, but it's not about making sense, it's about trying to obfuscate what's pretty clear so that independents and undecideds give up, get frustrated, get confused, and/or get demotivated so that they either stay home or vote 3rd party. There are only two viable parties in this bullshit first past the post system; one of them wants Project 2025 and one of them doesn't. Look at bullet points for what that is and then get your ass to the polls. It's that simple. The only people trying to convince you that it's not that simple are the ones who don't want you to look at those bullet points because it's pretty obvious whether most people are for or against that playbook. It's damning.

The first interracial kiss on TV was between Kirk and Uhura in 1968. Star Trek is and always has been set in a time when humans have achieved a post-scarcity leftist utopian. Shit's been this way since way before your uncle started calling everything he doesn't like "woke" which was only like 4 years ago for the record.

Know what was really woke? Keeping watch for police brutality and unjust police tactics. For real. I'm quoting this article lol.

Toxic by Britney Spears. Absolute fucking banger. Musically interesting for an American pop song. Each chorus has the chords walk down, which is pretty cool, but then on the next bar something really interesting happens. Instead of walking down from the second of the four chords, there are back to back tritone substitutions! So fucking cool!

And the one thing they want is to maximize profits. It's not that they want rivers and lakes to be polluted, it's that not polluting rivers and lakes costs more money than polluting rivers and lakes. And if the fines aren't higher than the difference, then they'll just keep doing it and pay their subscription fee.

The article doesn't say, but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on the half that aids the party that is technically in power in the House yet achieving absolutely nothing; the half that is taken hostage by an extremist arm that is poisoning otherwise (presumably) respectable resumes. Can you imagine explaining in a job interview that you were a senior staffer for somebody like Boebert or Gaetz? I'd rather just say I was a senior staffer for "a member of Congress" and avoid talking about who exactly. I don't think I'd even mention which Congress because this session is so goddamn embarrassing to be affiliated with.

Explaining a joke makes it less funny. A deep dive like this, however, actually kinda makes it even funnier.

I'm a millennial. I love my zoomer comrades. Even if I don't understand their stuff, I still respect their whole thing and the fact that they're inheriting a different world with different experiences than what I did, which is really all my generation was ever asking for and never received. I feel more like a significantly older sibling to gen z than a do an entire generational step older. We generally agree on a lot of the same shit. They're paying more attention to current events than I was when I was younger, and unfortunately it's kinda more necessary for them to because we didn't do a good enough job at that until maybe 5-10 years ago.

Sorry if I'm wrong and I'm the exception rather than the rule. Keep zoomin', zoomers 🤙

Preserving democracy was never going to be a single-step solution process. It takes consistent, persistent work to not only expand, but to just maintain our liberty for all. It's a tower defense strategy game.

At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, a lady asked Benjamin Franklin “Well Doctor what have we got, a republic or a monarchy.” Franklin replied, “A republic . . . if you can keep it.” This existential threat has always been there and it's something to always be wary of. It's exhausting, but it's worth it. Freedom ain't free.

If it was around the time I suspect, he might've been worried about the me too stories that were breaking. Which means he thought his own conduct could've been seen as questionable. Which means it was very questionable. So bullet dodged. Hooray for not being one of his sexual assault victims.

It's almost like the real reason they are against aid for Ukraine is that they just parrot whatever their media outlets put out, and they put out being against aid for Ukraine because they want Russia to win and they want lower taxes and reduced regulation for themselves. It's almost like conservatives are really fucking gullible so long as you pretend you're on their side and point at somebody for them to blame.

American here. Yep. Most of us are clueless fucking morons who have been brainwashed into hating unions and the "laziness and entitlement" that comes with it. These dipshits will pay money for a sticker to put on their car to show that they support the class traitors that are the overly militarized police that constantly destroys our property and kills us. Most of us are indoctrinated, nationalist cowards who worship sociopathic oligarchs because they're "job creators". And anybody who doesn't chug the Kool Aid is called unamerican and becomes socially excommunicated. Being aware and intelligent and having basic critical thinking skills is too threatening to their fragile worldview to be permitted to have a seat at anybody's table. And I'm tired of being gentle about how stupidly dangerous or dangerously stupid their active efforts against knowledge, class consciousness, justice, and democracy are.

Last night, my wife and I tried to come up with a list of things to be proud of our country for. Ready? Because it took like an hour to come up with this.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act
  • no pay toilets
  • National and State Parks
  • pop culture as an export (music, movies, jeans)
  • military technology
