Well shit, can't argue with that logic.

I would argue that in a lot of cases compassionate use policies are a good thing. I have a distant relative who was part of the study of the use of lung surfactant for premature infants. It was so effective that they cut the testing short to roll it out nation wide and has saved thousands and thousands of lives.

I'm not saying I trust pharmaceutical companies to not be bastards the vast majority of the time, but sometimes they do the right thing.

Dichroic glass is quite fragile, as the layer which reflects light is a thin film of metal particles. It's a super interesting process, but doesn't hold up to much. That said, the layer of dichroic glass is sandwiched between the regular glass and the rock, so unless you try to use one of these to open a coconut or hammer a nail it will probably hold up.

Will do, thanks!

My setup is a tile saw, a cheap faceting machine from china (don't buy them, they're garbage), and a wet polisher in a vice. I do also have a giant wet belt sander I got at an estate sale, but I need to replace the upper tensioner before I can use it.

Oh yeah, I like my lungs too much not to wear one. I eventually want to get one of those cool positive pressure hood/face guard things, but they're a little out of my price range at the moment.

That one's about 3.5-4 inches wide, 1.5 inches thick, and about 4 inches tall. I really enjoy cold working, it lets me focus on just one thing and ignore everything else. Until of course it's 4 hours later, I'm cold, wet, hungry, and covered in silica dust.

I'm glad you like them! I'm finally at the point where I can make them easily enough that I can start thinking about selling them, but I don't have a storefront or anything yet.

Thanks! I'm planning on putting together a video at some point.

I just wrapped up three more of these things, what does everyone think?

The bottom half are various stones I've collected, with a layer of dichroic glass on top, followed by a layer of plain glass. I then cut and polish them. It takes a long time, but it's really meditative work.

Hey now, sometimes my character is three little guys in a suit pretending to be one bigger guy. Or sometimes I'm a dwarf barbarian who has had so many CTEs that he thinks he's a wizard.

We can only hope

Where did he just come back from? Wrong answers only.

What do you guys think?

Working on an Alpha legion loyalist (ish) army. Still have a long way to go, but I'm happy with how it's going.

I'm still pretty new to painting minis, but this has been a fun and pretty simple color scheme that looks (imo) pretty good too!
