I learned that not having a stable home growing up means I never trust the safety or longevity of any living situation, therefore, I never get comfortable.

1205 would be best for drinking since thats the closest to "clear" that this chart goes.

And it is pretty "meh"

Its a half-baked minecraft clone. It was hype when it was announced, but right now all the cool parts about it could be Minecraft mods. It does not stand out.

Not in the before times

Ice is NOT "rogue", it's 100% designed this way by the government. Labeling it as a seperate entity removes liability from the source, which is the US government.

Persecuting pawns changes nothing.

I'm assuming I am allowed questions here?

Yes

I'm wondering if that needs to be turned off for building for nonvr, if its fine to leave enabled or if there is some export preset stuff I can do?

Im not fluent in Godot, but I would make 2 player controllers: one for VR, the other for PC. Default to PC but have a button on the main menu to toggle to VR. So enable openXR.

are there any lemmy communities for showing off games we make from game jams?

I would post in Indie dev spaces and mention that its a game jam submission.

The person I got it from said its a boy. I just think it's kawaii.

I regret not recording it, I tried looking up what species it was, but people are saying its synthesized. I can say that its plausibly not. I heard them in the state of Washington. Their chirps echo as they talk to each other, just like the song. I thought it was some sort of after effects, but no, it was trippy.

Near here (link deleted), and it was yesterday.

This was a new nightmare experience.

In my dream, our high school was being dismantled, but the high-school was a giant multi-story industrial building. A bunch of former students were there to volunteer help and reminisce about it, many of whom were good people.

There was one person giving directions on the dismantling of this building. Think "CEO". The kind of person who doesn't have anything to lose in this situation, but continues giving orders. They were always safe from harm, and far away from any danger.

"Everything was going great, until the lava situation..."

Suddenly, everything got so fragile. The area was surrounded by lava. The "CEO" kept giving orders to continue, despite the clear hazards. Many good people fell into the lava, but for everyone that fell, there was more volunteers to take their place.

The further along the project, the more lava there was. There was no way to avoid it. I was now in a situation where the floor was surrounded and seeping with lava. The floors of the building were crumbling and covered in lava. The building itself was leaning and unstable, and I was being told by this "CEO" entity to keep moving forward.

I couldn't understand how after seeing people dieing at this event, why would good people voluntarily continue killing themselves to further make progress while this CEO continues giving orders from a safe space. And why would we put ourselves into a situation knowing the only outcome is a long and painful demise.

And, to some extent, I think that's how our modern society works. Most of us are at the mercy of our job to survive. Higher management makes the good people, the poor people, do all the work, while taking all the credit, and putting those good people in hazardous situations while they watch from afar in their safety bubble. They can effectively murder people through hard labor, and theres always someone to replace them when the inevitable happens.

Im still processing the trauma from that dream. I lay here half awake, and all I can think is:

Life isn't worth giving away to your masters. Don't volunteer to be fodder. Own your life. Stand up for yourself and your safety.

Don't strive to be a master for your own safety. Strive to abandon the system and save the lives you would be killing.

I have no sympathy for those that perpetuate this madness.

Undiagnosed ADHD. Jobs get repetitive after the "training" phase.

My job is to replace smart gas meter devices. It involves a lot of driving, and repeating the same installation process 20+ times a day. Sometimes something interesting happens, but they are getting fewer and farther between. I've been there a couple months and I am getting burnt out from the repetition. As of right now, I usually watch videos or eat on my breaks.

Things I've considered:

  • Podcasts (I'd have to use my own phone, and I feel like I'd get bored of these pretty quick)
  • Music (I listen to music when I'm driving, but not during the installs. I could bring a bluetooth earpiece and listen all day, but again, I feel like I'd get burnt out/bored)
  • Call someone (I dont have the social capacity to talk for 8 hours. I also have to ring doors and talk to residents)
  • Give in to distractions (I can allow myself to stop and explore every so often, but not too often because I have a quota)

Have y'all found anything that helps throughout the day?

I graduated 2023, applied my heart out, and nobody will give me the time of day because I have no experience. Now everyone is getting laid off.

So how's your day?
