How are we feeling about this?

The game won't have a performance/quality mode at launch, but you will be allowed to tweak a little if you're playing on PC.

Now obviously it's not the worst thing in the world, and I'm sure many will be perfectly fine playing at 30, but I can't help but be disappointed by this news.

On a personal level I'll always go with the framerate over graphical fidelity; oftentimes the differences between the visuals in a quality mode just don't justify the loss of that smooth 60FPS, although I'm willing to grant that mileage may vary on that one.

I understand the constant want to improve visuals. They go a long way towards selling a game to it's audience, but I wish we'd gotten to a point where you could 1) have a conversation about the importance of FPS without appearing like a snob and 2) allow devs to prioritize 60FPS over graphical fidelity.

So yeah???

As a small child I was absolutely convinced that people in the olden days lived their day to day lives in black and white, and that they walked slightly faster than we did today (assuming a frame rate thing?).

I'm gonna put this one down to my understanding of how TV worked as a ten year old. Everything before colour TV was black and white... therefore everything was black and white. Makes perfect sense.

Elden Ring was my first Fromsoft game, so I played it pretty straight; big slow sword, lots of health and a large damage output.

I'll most likely be starting a new run this evening, and I'm thinking of mixing it up and going down a Magic path for a change (if anyone could explain the difference between Magic and Faith that'd be grand).

Are you planning on doing a rebuild? And if so, how are you going to mix it up?

I've got two kids and it feels like at least two of the four of us has had a cold going back to mid-december.

I've had this cough thing for the last few days, figured I was over the worst of it...until I woke up this morning with a horrifically blocked nose; been sneezing and blowing my nose since. Will it ever end?

There's a good crossover between the best Rugby nations and the best Cricketing nations; I'm assuming this is down to good old fashioned British colonialism?

Which leads me to wonder why Rugby never gained the same level of support in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as it did in New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and Fiji.

Or am I totally wrong and the two things aren't remotely related?

So some idiot crashed into my car on Monday night (whilst it was parked). The best part? It's happened twice in two years. Fun right?

Anyway. I'm viewing some cars tomorrow. I've got a budget. 4k at an absolute maximum (primarily because I'm convinced it's going to get wrecked again).

I'm going on my own and I know next to nothing about cars so I'd really appreciate any tips or clues as to what to look out for.

Sounds great in principle, but where are me and the other 60 houses down our terraced street with no off-street parking supposed to park our cars?

Yes, I'd love to live in the public transport utopia that's just over the horizon, but right now, I need a car to get to and from work and I live in a house that was literally built before cars were a thing.

Again, I can only speak to our street but the vast majority of car owners make sure there's ample room to get through. The issue is that there's usually one or two assholes who ruin it for everyone, and those guys usually find out pretty quickly why it's a bad idea to block the path.

For context: I drive, but I've also had two kids and therefore two pushchairs I've had to navigate along the pavement. My car also got totalled a few years ago by a delivery driver who drove into it whilst it was parked. Id rather it not be parked on the road/pavement but what choice do we have here?

Used to work in a pretty sizable Sainsbury's up until last year. I never dealt with physical abuse from a customer, but I did hear about a fair bit of it, especially from the female members of staff.

Customers would come in and start being incredibly inappropriate to them. You'd hear that one customer had patted them on the bottom, or grabbed their hand. One customer would routinely come in and start trying to kiss my partner's hand (we worked together). You report this behaviour to management and at best it's laughed off.

Don't even get me started on the behaviour some customers think they're entitled to push on staff who are unfortunate enough to have to do reductions in the evening; grabbing, pushing, shouting, you name it, it's done. Management are adamant it has to be done on the shop floor though, why? You tell me.

Ultimately what I'm trying to say is that a lot of these sort of things might be less prominent if management came out and backed their colleagues when a customer was showing signs of being a t*at. Fitting them with cameras makes it look like another profit protection measure.

I play an awful lot of games on easy mode now anyway, unless I'm going in specifically to learn the game (Fromsoft games for example). If I'm playing a random open world game or a FPS I'm gonna knock that difficulty down to make life a little easier.

Time. I'd rather not do this, but I get like maybe five hours a week to play. The days where I can sit down on weekends and just...game are long gone, and likely won't return until the kids are much older.
