That's a technical argument. Technical arguments don't work on transphobes because transphobes aren't motivated by logic, they're motivated by emotion. The correct argument to use on a transphobe is one that humiliates them in the eyes of all onlookers. The only way to reform a transphobe is public shame.

In my country, your birth certificate has both your deadname and your new name on it if you changed your name. When I signed up for PayPal, I had already transitioned, so I put in my current, legal name. PayPal asked for proof that I am who I claim to be, to prevent fraud. Fair enough, I gave them my birth certificate. They looked at it, and then changed the name on my account to my deadname, which was no longer my legal name. When I told them to change it back, they said I'd have to submit a change of name form.

It's a commuter bike. Most bikes in the US are sports bikes, designed for athletes. Most bikes in the Netherlands are commuter bikes, designed for average people. It's not "small dick energy" for a man to not be an athlete. That's toxic masculinity that harms men. It's misandrist and it upholds patriarchy. Part of destroying patriarchy is liberating men from judgement like this.

FINA already bars trans-women who went through male puberty from competing as women, and that seems like a pretty fair compromise.

I didn't know I was trans until I was 18 because nobody explained it in a way that made sense to me. The literature was not made accessible. You need to put a ton of effort into educating kids before you can put in a rule like that fairly.

Grandma doesn't have a gender and doesn't realise why people who have genders think they're important. She'd be equally happy identifying as a man and she doesn't realise that's unusual.
