Ok I want to start by saying I agree with you in principle. I’m not commenting on substance, but on form. I know this metaphor. It’s provocative and is used frequently. But I don’t love the idea of comparing Palestinians to dogs. Is there any way it can be tweaked to not refer to an oppressed people as animals?

I don’t comment this directly at you either. I’m asking the broader Lemmy community. Can we workshop an adjustment?

It’s the way Tinder renders. ‘Lives in’ shows up in the language/alphabet of the app of the creator of the profile, while all other headers are processed in the language of the viewer of the profile.

It actually serves as a decent trick for learning the language settings on the app of a person who’s profile you’re viewing.

People do give a shit. There is just an overload of shitty corporate behavior and people only have so much bandwidth. Each person fights on the fronts most important to them - which vary person to person (and over time). In the end you’re right, the answer is to regulate and make things illegal so people aren’t fighting thousands of battles at once.
