uniquely, uhhh, Final Fantasy shaped.

This doesn't seem problematic

I think they get some weird perverted sense of community that's otherwise lacking in our culture.

It is probably not what that would say they support but it is what their defense/deflection does support

yeah, you've got a point. We should probably be praising this dem for being the adult in the room and compromising with their "opposition" to reach further to the right overriding a voter referendum instead of supporting actual democratic action. Then the MAGA voters would finally see the error of their ways!

Bug divers are just people who want to play missions against bugs(I forget what they're actually called) instead of pursuing the overarching community goal.

Sometimes when goals get missed and people don't get the reward they wanted for it they decide the problem was other people playing for fun instead of pursuing a goal they didn't care about for someone else's benefit

"The problem is democracy"

What kind of take is this?

Are you willing to concede that it's still bigotry and if so is the exact flavor/origin significant?

Not as far as I know, but the contract between the Chinese investor & Mohawk Energy stipulated provided energy at a a specific average cost. So I think they promised they could and then got told to get lost by the power companies.

For anyone curious about what the falling out between the Chinese investors and the Mohawk Energy group was, it appears that the investor signed a contract to lease the facility and paid a substantial amount above/ahead of their contract but that Mohawk Energy didn't get the facility operational (possibly at all but certainly not at the energy cost specified in the contract). I only skimmed the very beginning of the introduction but it's here if anyone wants it: https://jusmundi.com/en/document/pdf/other/en-hbtpower-limited-v-mohawk-energy-llc-demand-for-arbitration-tuesday-5th-december-2023

I assume Mohawk thought they'd be able to get whatever power rate they wanted due to the Senator's backing, and anyone that's been paying attention to this had it made painfully clear why you shouldn't sign long term fixed energy cost contacts to mining operations after the Texas debacles.
