They really do phrase everything as if it’s violence, don’t they?

This 100%. I also maintain that heavy social media usage is a coping mechanism just as much as it is a cause of mental health problems. You wanna talk about an opiate of the masses? I watched my parents exhaustedly zone out in front of the tv to deal with their shitty fucking jobs for decades. Now I’m doing the same thing except with my phone.

You know what my problem with Hitler was? His dietary choices. 🙄

Fucking delusional

I’m trying to find an old creepypasta that was instructions on how to do this ritual. Bonus points if there’s evidence that that sort of environment can cause mild visual hallucinations, even in a clinical setting, which I seem to also remember is the case.

I thought the original title wasn’t nearly clickbaity enough for how good the content was

No, you don’t understand! That’s the fault of those union thugs!!

I think these 3 things are fascinating in a similar way. They all involve encoding some information or process in a way that could be replicated independent of the details of the underlying physical mechanisms. It really hammers home for me that life can be seen as a series of increasingly complex abstractions where the implementation details aren’t necessarily the defining factors. Some of that is probably because human intuition is messy and our taxonomies, though increasingly reliable, have started from a place of working backwards from that intuition.

Just had this thought stuck in my head and needed to write it out a bit.

A lot of the time, it can be written off as, “normal people don’t know this, so why would my character?” But it’s also rarely if ever portrayed. For anyone not familiar, if you point a gun in someone’s face, there’s a good chance that the part of their brain that processes your speech has now shut down. This is a big reason why cops pointing a gun at someone and then giving orders is bullshit. A lot of the time, you just cannot hear the person talking to you.

I think the closest I’ve seen to this on screen is a POV shot looking at the gun with a shallow depth of field and the person holding the gun is talking, but it’s really muffled. Honestly, I’ll take it. It’s not like people can’t hold a conversation while at gunpoint. It’s just that not everyone can all the time.

I don’t know how to break it to conservatives, but evangelicals have been recruiting tatted up new age hippies left and right. These are actually all the babies she refused to vaccinate.

This is literally just the “in this house we believe” sign. It’s certainly not a chronological account like the original poem.

Remember, we’re only trans when it’s convenient. Which is a thing that being trans can be, apparently.

yeonmi-park In the United States, they rank their criminals by how much the authorities would like to capture them. If you score highly, they put pictures of your face all over the grocery stores to make it impossible for you to hide if you want food.

No burning Star of David. The name directly and unambiguously attacks the problem. Good workarounds to avoiding ambiguity and misuse. I don’t know if it’s still the same person managing emotes or if whoever’s doing it wants called out by name, but thank you either way. I also couldn’t find the emotes repo. Is it actually being done with an admin panel nowadays?

Statewide legislature passing laws focused on one person, a child.

Imagine all the hours spent. Utah has 104 legislators between their house and senate. If the bill was discussed on the floor for 10 minutes in each chamber, that’s 17 hours of human effort wasted. Now add in hours of deliberation in committee. Hours put in by staffers, by experts, by consultants, by lobbyists. That’s hundreds, if not over a thousand, hours spent on a ruining a JV sport for a single trans girl. What a ridiculous and disgusting waste.
